Flames are done! Lighting isn't so hot and without the mower deck, it looks kinda odd. But it's set up for the snow thrower which is more important right now. I'll get more shots in the spring, when the sun will sit higher in the sky and cast less shadows.

Here's a 3/4 shot, well, more like 3/16ths! But I wanted to get a shot of the front before I put the snow thrower on.

Here it is, all ready for the snow! There's a ballast tray that goes on the back to keep it from being nose heavy. I'll have to put the chains on at some point too but later. It's cold out and I can't feel my fingers right now. Surprised I can type!

Rattle can paint job, Testor's Model Masters French Blue enamel for the pin stripes on the flames. I used this Krylon acrylic clear coat to keep the color paint from scratching or chipping too bad.

It stinks to high heaven but if you have a project that you want to clear coat, that stuff is pretty friggin' awesome! Easy to apply, no alligatoring or orange-peeling, no need to sand between coats at all. Coats dry in about 10 minutes and you can shoot the next coat at that point. Seems pretty durable too. I shot a light switch cover with it to test it out. No prep at all, just an old cover with a baked enamel on it. Bonded pretty good for sticking to a finished surface. I could still scrape it off but the amount of effort I needed to put in to the scraping would have likely been able to gouge the metal as well.

So if you have a project that you want a decent clearcoat for, that Krylon stuff was better than I expected.

You know that is not going to help keep you any warmer while blowing snow right. ;) Good job man. I don't have to worry about plowing, the neighbor a couple doors down plows for us with his 4 wheeler. We got 6-8 in. over the last couple of days. It went from 50 and no snow to 20s and the amount we have now in a little over a days time. Crazy weather this year.

That's awesome. You'll be the envy of the neighborhood. F all those green and yellow owners.

Why the snow thrower attachment? Won't it just melt everything in its path without it??

I used it extensively last year. Hell, it paid for itself in saved time alone.

But it's a blast to drive and dig out the driveways so I dug out everybody's driveway from the street to the sidewalk where the heaviest snow gets dumped by the plow.

I also cleared a couple elderly neighbors complete driveways as well as the lady up the street with two handicapped boys. She was quite surprised that anyone helped her out. But she looked out the window as I was trundling up her drive with her jaw on the floor as that pig ate up all the snow and tossed it to the side. Then I did her side walk and cleared the snow around her van in the street. Took me all of 15 minutes. But it goes down the sidewalks here in one fell swoop. I usually clear space for the kids to get to their bus stop too.

The whole reason I got it was because I got like 40% off the price and only paid $900 for the attachment. That's about what I would pay for a 24" wide thrower. But I bought my grandma's house and every time the plow comes by, 6" of snow turns in to over a foot of ice boulders at the bottom of the driveway. This thing laughs at that while my back and shoulders would just scream and run and hide.
