OK, So here's the problom. I have a Bang & Olufson 4002 in beautiful shape but does not track correctly, its been to repair shop twice. and all they did was install new belts, both times it tracked correctly for a while then problem reacured. From what research i've done it seems to be the laser eye causeing the problem. Any recomendations to where to get it repaired properly or would i be better served buying a new table. Being that this table is 35 years old but always sounded great when working. Still don't know if its worth the trouble. Not looking to spend more than $500 either way. Any and all opinions or recomendations would be appreciated.

I'm constantly buying and selling turntables and generally go and look at anything listed in a 30 mile or so radius from my home.

More often than not, old B&O tables are the ones at the bottom of the pile and not repairable.

New they looked cool and sounded good, but they don't seem to stand the test of time.

Been looking for a Thorens. That was one thing on my list for this year. They seem to get favorable reviews here.

I'm getting danger close to saying hell with it and pulling the trigger on the Audio Technica ATLP-120. Yaeh i know its a Chinese copy of Technics 1200 but for the money for a new table it looks hard to beat. Thinking B&O has seen its last day.

How good are those linear tracking TT's ? I have seen some at Pawn Shops and always considered them close and plays, and never have heard one or seen one function.

This one is great when tracking properly. Definitly NOT close and play. State of the art in 1975.
