AVR watts for M70's
I have been moving my fairly new monitors around for a few weeks now and have been tweaking trying to figure out my preferences and the best location for each. What I currently have is in my sig. I think the final change (for now) will be to switch the M70's and the M50's. The 50's will work better in the HT with the cs1 so I won't need to upgrade to the cs2 (the 70's overpowered the cs1 a bit). The M70's and velodyne sub will be used mostly with my turntable.
I know the HK receiver will not get the best out of the M70's...and I will be looking to upgrade, but my main question is this...until I can upgrade the receiver, can I damage the M70's by hooking them up to the HK (50w per channel)...here are the specs - http://www.retrevo.com/search?q=Harman+Kardon+AVR+240&rt=sp&modelid=386035
I have read that underpowering speakers can cause damage...and I know the 70s are rated for a much higher wattage, but the HK reviews said the 50w actually performed better than that.
Thanks for the help!

Your fine bro, you won't damage anything and that HK is plenty to drive the M7O's.
One thing you need to understand, is because the manufactured put on the speaker that it can handle x amount of watts doesn't mean you are underpowering them if your receiver is rated at less than those suggestions. The monitor series is very easy to drive and doesn't represent a heavy load to most common every day receivers.HT SYSTEM-
