Again w/ time on my hands I was cruising some sites and while totally satified w/ my Adcomgfa555 I could not help but marvel at the Emotiva new XPA-2 300 wpc for a reported $800.The Emotive site is slick ,impressive and dare say good looking. The other was the Parasound Halo A-21 250 wpc w/ no priced attached .Knowing that somehere had some on/off switching problems as a new amp what would you guys chose. Listen by now you know I can't afford dick but it's fun to look and compare and hear you dudes sound off on your prefences.

Emo is slick and good looking but the Adcom and Parasound sound a lot better.

I agree with Brock on this. Emo is nice to look at but the Parasound will be better sounding and more on par with the Adcom you already have. Don't forget about B&K and Rotel when looking used. They all make very nice amps.

Parasound hands down, followed by the Adcom. The slickness of their website is about as good as Emo gets.

I'd take an XPA-2 over a Halo A-23 any day of the week. I've owned both. The HAlo A-21 and JC-1 Monos are different animals. For now, stick with your amp and buy better speakers.

Funny, you couldn't pay me to own an Emo. Different strokes for differnet folks. Some of the Parasounds I've heard are just......meh, too. That's what makes this hobby so much fun, lots of choices and combinations to please everyone's tastes.

8 years old now, and still no desire to replace it with anything else. Wish I could make-up a reason--but I got nothin'.

Possibly in the form of a tubed pre, but it'll have to be stellar to pry that placette out of my hands again.

I'm pretty set on a pair of Harbeth's in the distant future.
