I've Dynamated all the drivers in my rta's with very good results, however I've heard talk about the tweets , having no "baskets" what.are you putting the dynamat on? Just the back of the tweet itself. And what will it do to the tweets? Reason for asking is I've come up with a pair of nice 5jr+'s and will do the drivers just courious if it has any effect on the tweets? ( sl2000 are a little rough). Short of going to the rdo94's is there anything to be done. Thanks.

I wouldn't put any dynamat on the tweets, putting some BH5 or SB behind them would be better IMO..

I second that. No dynamat on my tweets, just the baskets. Blackhole 5 applied to the tweeter and midrange area only.
Statistics show that 98% of us will die at some point in our lifetime.

The other 2% will work for WalMart.

To keep costs down, most drivers are manufactured with thin sheet metal baskets. If you flick the spokes of a thin sheet metal basket, it will resonate with a higher pitched "ring". This ringing/resonance adversely affects sound output.

Expensive drivers made with heavy or cast baskets will make more of a "thud" (resonance cancelled) when you flick them.

Adding the right amount of Dynamat Extreme to thin basket material will turn that unwanted "ring" to a solid "thud".

Tweeters are built differently with no basket to introduce an unwanted resonance, so there's no need to add Dynamat Extreme.

I thought it strange to do the tweets, glad I confirmed it. Thanks all.
