A/V Receivers with satellites...

I have asked a few questions on this board concerning Polk's satellite speakers and have appreciated everyone's responses.
The other question I have is...is there a receiver that works better with Polks Satellites than another? I don't know if this is a stupid question or not, but I see Polk teaming with Onyko a lot.
I have an Onyko CD player that is about 10 years old and love it.
I am looking at Onyko and Denon Digital receivers in the $500 range.
Any advice.
Thanks again to you all.

recievers can be like speakers in that everyone can like one's sound over another's. like some audiophiles prefer tube amps over solid states, but with reciever's it's not quite to that 'sound' extreme. i run a kenwood reciever to my polks, and i am very pleased with the sound. i am looking at denon/onkyo to upgrade to if i go with and intergrated reciever, or with anthem/B&K/marantz if i choose seperates. different recievers are going to allow your speakers to play different sounds. many on this board run denon and onkyo with their polks and seem to be happy with it. i would find a good hi-fi shop in you area that will allow you take home and demo 2-3 recievers and see how they sound with your polks. this is the best way to get the sound YOU want out of your polks. the best thing about polks is that they sound good using anything from a low end reciever to a high end reciever. of course, the more power, the better.

I use the Outlaw 1050 with the RTi series speakers, and it sounds great doing 2 channel music or movies. I highly recommend it.

I use a Yamaha 5460 with RM6600 and they sound sweet. However, let your ears make that decision as to which is best.
Good luck. -
I agree with doorbelllet your ears make that decision as to which is best.
I run an onkyo TX-DS777 and enjoy every minute of it. The 777 pushes 105x5, before that i had another onkyo that was only 80x3 and 25x2 for rears and even that sounded good. Then again polks are great speakers and like it has been said before polks will make any receiver sound good:)Speakers:
