Distorted sound

Hi,

Until recently, I've noticed that the right channel, both the front and back of my 5.1 AV Yamaha receiver RXV1400 started making distorted sounds. I have switched the speaker connectors and it does the same thing to the left channel. Any idea what's wrong with my yammie or is it something else. Please help. Thanks. Bolelet1

It's probably your receiver, and it means it's time for a new one.

Possibly, but "distortion" is a pretty generic term and can mean different things...

Are we talking "garbled" or "raspy" or "crackling" or...?
    More later,
