I bought some AKG Q460. I did not notice, somehow, that the cables are lime green.
I am looking for some quality replacement cables that look a bit better.
The headphones want a 2.5mm and the end is a 3.5mm.
I have looked around and did not find much, kind of disappointing that headphones that much would require such an odd cable.
Thanks for the help.

True, I never though of just building some. I suppose that would be much easier then actually trying to find one that fits.
I will look into building one instead, unless someone can find a quality one they would recommend over building one.

Hmm, maybe you want to double check? I may be wrong. I looked them up and most people are saying they are 2.5mm for the headphone, and the normal 3.5mm for the bottom plug that goes into the device.

It looks like wiring a headphone cable could prove a time consuming task.
    Anyone done it before?

I called AKG. Got a quick response, but no one that spoke very fluid English.
Anyway, they verified that it is a 2.5mm that is needed at the headphones.
I looked at how to make the headphone cable and it looks like a lot of work.
    Has anyone made one before?
Anyone know of a good one I could use? Since all AKG makes is the lime green one.

Yeah some use that cable, the higher end ones ( I have 271 MKII) use a mini XLR which is an industry standard cable. Sucks yours is so hard to find to replace....

Yeah, it is kind of aggravating when a company does that.
I will have to see how they feel in terms of durability.
I am hoping one of them is without the iPod controls since those normally break first on wires like that,

That is what I was thinking of doing was buying an adapter, and shrink wrapping it to the 3.5 so it looked nice.
I will be able to tell tomorrow night of the quality of the cable, and if there is one without those ipod controls. If there is, I may just shrink wrap the lime green cable with black.
Unsure of what size shrink wrap I would need though.,

Just got an email back from Signal Cable, I guess due to the size of the 2.5mm plug, it is difficult to make a quality cable with adequate insulation, and a quality amount of cable.
Any other cable makers that come to mind?
I would really prefer not to use adapters.
