I still refuse to hand them my money until they either build a user review section or explain to me why they can't, other than the obvious reason that they don't want people to know something is crap before they buy it...

Well, I just made three more purchases today. Bought three Stones albums. Get Yer Ya Ya's Out - Remastered at 176/24, Let It Bleed at 176/24, and Some Girls - Deluxe edition at 88/24.

So far, they are sounding pretty darn good. You have to love high-res files.
Lumin X1 file player, Westminster Labs interconnect cable
Sony XA-5400ES SACD; Pass XP-22 pre; X600.5 amps
Magico S5 MKII Mcast Rose speakers; SPOD spikes

Shunyata Triton v3/Typhon QR on source, Denali 2000 (2) on amps
Shunyata Sigma XLR analog ICs, Sigma speaker cables
Shunyata Sigma HC (2), Sigma Analog, Sigma Digital, Z Anaconda (3) power cables

Mapleshade Samson V.3 four shelf solid maple rack, Micropoint brass footers
    Three 20 amp circuits.
  • We should make representation back to HDTracks and associated sellers when we receive 22 khz-cutoff HD content as this can potentially hide a CD-upsample. At least when we see high frequency content above 25 khz (even if it's only tape noise [or, one hopes, harmonics]) that rules out an upsampled CD-source -- you can disguise 16-bit as 24, but spectral analysis will always reveal a Redbook source or step in the chain...
