ADC 210 /I guess a little brother to the 303ax. 8” acoustic suspension two-way with “never disintegrate” treated paper surrounds and cone tweeters. Nice cabinets with no scratches, one grille has a slight tear in fabric, not bad at all. A little Olde English polish and…! Cabs about the size of a KLH Model 6, but these go much deeper (low-end wise). I always thought the 10” 303ax went much deeper than the 10” KLH 6 or 17, and these are no exception. They are laid back and go deep. Cabinet placard states a -4db point at 35 cycles. THAT, is almost AR-3a territory. Not bad for an 8 incher. $60
Cerwin-Vega AT-12 /12” ported, obnoxious three-way. Cabs and grilles near perfect. If I recall they are brown colored wood, not black colored wood. Be the BMOC with these pups. $75
Dahlquist DQ-8 /Black, just about living room presentable. One tweeter appears inop. Somebody. Please. TTTTFOOH! $35
Dahlquist M-907 /10” acoustic suspension three-way. Gorgeous. HEAVY. Need woofer re-foam. $100
Denon DCD-910 /Well regarded single disc cd machine. No remote. $40
Gateway LD-220 /DVD Player & Receiver combo one one chassis. Has speaker level outputs for all five HT channels and one set (not a pair) of speaker-level subwoofer outputs for Dolby Digital. No remote, no idea how much power, but it has a very big toroidal transformer aboard. $40
Harman-Kardon 385i /30 or 40wpc silver-faced, low-profile job. Very nice shape. $50
Harman-Kardon Model 820 /Probably 20wpc or so, UGLY ****, not silver-faced, but not black-faced either. Very good cosmetic shape, but BUTT UGLY. Same sort of looks as the early 330 receivers w/the black faux leather exterior. No wooden case. Does not sound at all like early SS, in fact, its sound kind of reminds me of the KLH receivers of the same era, maybe a little later. Kind of sweet and laid back. Missing a couple of brass knob cover things. This thing yearns for a big pair of Bozaks. $60
Kenwood KR-6050 /60wpc, silver-faced. Very nice shape and operating condition. Wood side panels. $60 (A dollar a watt.)
NAD 7240PE /40wpc, beautiful cosmetic shape. Works fine. $60
NAD 5530 /Well regarded, museum piece looking condition single disc cd machine. No remote (not equipped). $40
Onkyo TX-4500 /55wpc, silver-faced. Very nice shape. $65 (ALMOST a buck a watt.)
Onkyo TX-4500 /55wpc, silver faced. Very nice shape, but doesn’t do stereo FM. It brings in mono real spiffy though. $50 (LESS than a buck a watt.)
Marantz 2226B /26wpc, silver-faced. Gorgeous except for a little finger crud on the grooved knobs. You clean them up. No fascia scratches, no wood case. Couple lights out, not all. $160
Marantz 2238B /38wpc, silver-faced, gorgeous. No wood case. Everything works perfectly… except any of the lights. Receiver works PERFECTLY, but not a single light illuminates. $175
Marantz 6270Q /Direct-drive turntable with strobe and Pickering XV/15-625E cart standard mounted works and looks perfect. $75
Mitsubishi DA-R15 /Very nice 45wpc silver-faced stereo receiver. A sleeper if you ask me. $45 (A buck a watt.)
Nakamichi MB-10 /VERY well regarded five-disc “Music Bank” cd player/changer. Not the quickest on the draw, but dependable. Sounds very good. $50
Nakamichi OMS-1A /Well regarded single disc CD player. (Might have remote, I can’t remember) $40
Philips CDR-870 /Single-drawer cd recorder. $40
Pinnacle “Digital 150” /Nice Pinnacle 10” or 12” 150 watt powered sub. Black. $150
Pioneer PD-T503 /Rare two-drawer, two disc cd player. $60
Pioneer SA-7700 /50wpc? Integrated amp w/silver face and nice power meters. Gorgeous. $100
Polk PSW-50 / $75
Sony RCD-W500C /Five disc cd recorder. $50
Sony STR-6036 /20 or 30wpc, silver-faced. Pretty nice shape. $30 (A buck a watt.)
Sony STR-7055 /40wpc, silver-faced, and wins “Least Amount of Power Crammed into a Huge Receiver” award. No scratch fascia and wood side panels. $60
Sony STR-V4 /55wpc, silver-faced. Everything works and looks great. Beautiful fascia and knobs. $100
Sony STR-V7 /200wpc, silver-faced MONSTER. Most powerful stereo receiver Sony ever offered. Everything works fine. Fascia is perfect/near perfect. Grooved knobs have finger grunge inside the grooves, and fascia could use a light wipe down. I messed around with it a little, and determined that with a few Q-tips and an old t-shirt, I could have this thing looking like new in less than two hours. If I do that, I’m adding at least $100 to the price. If YOU do it, you don’t have to give me anything extra. Has wooden sides which are near perfect (right front bottom ever so slightly crushed), black top has minimal scratch. HUGE, toroidal transformer involved. Meters work. $200 (A buck a watt, give me a break.)
Sony TD-560D /Reel to Reel tape recorder that looks like new in the original box w/original packing. $35
Teac ZD-3000 /About 25-30lbs. of first generation single disc cd player that works and looks spiffy. $50
Yamaha CR-1020 /70wpc, silver-faced beauty looks and works like the day it left the factory. Wood case too. $250
I’ve got plenty more cd plyrs, changers, and recorders. Cassette decks, starter turntables, tuners, small speakers, and medium speakers. All working and looking perfect. I also have…
BROKE STUFF
Onkyo M-5090 /200wpc @ 8 ohms power amp. From around 1982, this amp at $1,800 MSRP is the second most expensive amp Onkyo ever offered, second only to the $5k M-510. The 225wpc M-508, a later amp, was not as expensive as this amp when made. I have had M-504’s, M-506’s, and then I got hold of this thing. It became my daily driver for the woofers on the AR-9’s as soon as I got it, and that was about eight or nine years ago. It finally gave out last month. It lights up just fine, but won’t come out of protection. I have the service manual. Fascia is gorgeous. Wood sides more than okay, but far from perfect. Has the wood Onk side panels that were just about standard for all their old power amps. Large and HEAVY. $200
Sony TC-K850ES /Beautiful cassette deck that was a daily driver until about two months ago. FF is fine, REW is fine, but it won’t go into PLAY. $20
Technics SL-1400 /Gorgeous shape, Audio-Technica cart, original box/packing, adjustable speed is proving very difficult to get dead on w/strobe. It’s either a smidgen too fast, or a smidgen too slow, I can’t get it just perfect. Maybe you can. $50
Yamaha A-1000 /Large, heavy, black, 100wpc integrated amp that that lights up just fine, but won’t make a sound. $20 -

That's a very nice garage sale, wish I was up in your area, I'd probably walk away with a carload of stuff that I really don't need but couldn't pass up.

I am right there with you pep. Thankfully my piggybank is empty right now lol."....not everything that can be counted counts, and not everything that counts can be counted." William Bruce Cameron, Informal Sociology: A Casual Introduction to Sociological Thinking (1963) -
There's some fine hardware up there in that first post, folks.
To quote Major T.J. "King" Kong:-- shoot, a fellah could have a pretty good weekend in Vegas with all that stuff....
Personally, I'd opine that George is being a little tough on the hk 820, though. I believe it looks like the hk 520/530 (see attached), doesn't it? -
Looks like the one in the middle, but with a couple more white/gray switches on the left. So it's "Nocturne styling" is it? It's ugly man.
-
Yup. "Nocturne"= black-out dial on black.
-
You don't see too many of those ADC 1000 around. All ADC system might be kind of neat. Get one of those Accutrac tables and a pair of 303ax or these 210 that I have. It beats an all Dynaco rig where all you can have for a source would be AM or FM.
-
Some very nice pieces, and very low prices.
Anyone eyeballing those Marantz receivers might appreciate knowing that there is someone on Ebay selling sets of direct replacement bulbs for about $15. And there are a few web sites that describe how to wrestle them into place.

Nocturnality is an animal behavior characterized by activity during the night and sleeping during the day. The common adjective is "nocturnal".

But seriously George, you need to move closer to me so I can get in on this good stuff! -
But seriously George, you need to move closer to me so I can get in on this good stuff!
Seriously?
I would like to trade five "George you need to live closer to me" messages for just one "When can I come over and get..." type message. -
just looked up the sony-STR-V7. Wow that unit looks nice and the specs on it are darn good for a receiver. It also looks like it has MM and MC inputs for the turntable if the specs of what I am looking at are correct.
Inputs :
Phono MM (2,5mV / 50kOhm)
Phono MC (0,25mV / 100Ohm)
Aux. (150mV / 100kOhm)
Tape 1,2 (150mV / 100kOhm)
DIN
Distortion :0,07% Frequency response :10Hz...35Khz Power bandwidth :5Hz...50Khz
Damping factor :40
S/N ratio :100dB 65dB (MC) 80dB (MM)
5 gang fm.
I would say just on specs alone it seems nice.
The power though seems a little strange some sites say 200 per some say 150 per.Klipsch The Nines, Audioquest Thunderbird Interconnect, Innuos Zen MK3 W4S recovery, Revolution Audio Labs USB & Ethernet, Border Patrol SE-I, Audioquest Niagara 5000 & Thunder, Cullen Crossover II PC's. -
It should have an excellent tuner.
I think I have a brochure with that series of Sony Rxs in it - I'll check & post a scan if I do.
The V7 (and its brethren) are excellent and somewhat under-appreciated receivers, if that kind of thing (receivers, that is) is one's bag. -

if all the lamps aren't lighting, as in the 2238, i'd suspect something further up the line needs attention....those marantzes are sweeties

Dude you need a store front....
J/K great gear and great prices I too wish i was within driving distance. RATS -
sounds like alot of good stuff

PM sent.

Here's the brochure blurb on the STR-V7... it is rather less meaty than I recalled/expected; sorry about that.
Also sorry for the crummy scan quality. wah-wah-wah... -
Any B-more Polkies planning to travel by Exit 5 in the near future?
-
150 watts x 2 and almost 50 lbs is nothing to sneeze at! That's a pretty heavy receiver for Sony, regardless.
It's a nice piece. I'm also eyeing that Yamaha and HK?
The Onkyos are also nice units. George does have the "goods" there!

George, I am interested in the DQ 8's They may be just the ticket for my Carverfest 40 watt monoblocks. Dont think I can pm as yet so we will figure something out. Thanks Harry
-
Also interested in the Sony RTR
-
Okay Harry, thanks.
-
George, I'd be interested in that Onkyo TX-4500 for $65 (the one with the FM section that works). I'd need you to hold it for me, though for a few months, till I get down that way. Would send you a check now for the full amount, pick up later?
I've been collecting vintage receivers and that Onkyo is supposed to be the first of the Onkyo comeback that included the TX-2500 and the TX-4500 before the higher models were made.
Thanks!

A pic of a Harman Kardon 820... and a free bump
Notice that it does not have AM. This thing sold for a hair under $300 in the day and it was advertised as a no frills high quality unit, with no money wasted on an AM tuner so that they could give you higher quality everything else...
-
George, when are you coming up to CT or even all the way to Mass....i want one of those Marantz!!!Where’s the KABOOM?!?! There’s supposed to be an Earth shattering KABOOM!!!
-
CNH, okay. No holding check required.

Many thanks George. Are you sure I can't send you a check now? Won't be able to get down there till either spring break or maybe even as late as the end of the spring semester? I also plan to pick up some grills from Big Dawg for my Monitor 10s at that time (thanks again BD!).
Mark has a point there. I'm saving my pennies now, and if I have enough and that Yammie is still down there when I arrive consider it sold!
That should NOT stop any of you buying this before hand. It's an absolutely gorgeous unit.
One more thing. If any of you need some things on George's list and are reasonably close to my route back: Easton, Pa. to Scranton across NY State South I-84 through Connecticut to I-90, to I-290 Worcester to N495 to N-95 Portsmouth, N.H. up to Maine. I could consider a drop-off for you (free of course--as long as you're not too far out of the way)? Let's get some of this stuff moving for George!
Thanks again.
