Either A7's or A9's?

First, I have purchased 2 - Parasound hca-1000a's

Each one puts out 125w x 2
or 400w mono

I want to purchase either A7's or A9's depending on the recommended set up.

A) Would I be better of buying either set of speakers and running a single amp to each in mono mode?

B) Would I be better off using one amp to power the bottoms and one amp to power the tops?

Thanks for the help!

Get the N9NE's hook them up both ways and what sounds best to you keep that set up.

Is it really worth the extra 500 bucks for the A9's?

Newegg just had the A9 Cherry last weekend for $499 each. I got the black ones at christmas for the same price. Set up an price watch on the A9';s on there and be patient.

^Good to know... The differential does shrink from MSRP levels.

    First, welcome...

Second, are you going 2-ch for music or moving on to an HT?
    - If 2-ch, I'd consider the 9's, but none of our opinions are a substitute for you getting your ears on them.
    - For HT, with a sub to do the deep stuff, I'd lean towards the 7's.

Third, add vertical bi-amping to the mix as well. Gives you a third option to your A (bridging) and B (horizontal bi-amping) options to check out as Larry (Toolfan) suggested.

At the risk of causing a major derail... No... An external, or active, X-over is never "necessary". Some prefer it; some hear an improvement; some claim it is the only "true bi-amping". But it's not necessary.
    More later,
