Please give advice.

I am looking at both...I know there is a definite difference. But, for an amateur on a budget...how much of a difference is there?
The 6200 come with the psw250 and the 6600 come with the psw350. Price wise, about a $200 difference at the place I am buying. Thanks

i bought my 7500's from cc for just $550... $100 cheaper than the 6600's.

check around. a few cc's around atlanta still have them in stock, but i don't know about anywhere else.

When and where did you buy the 7500's. I live in Atlanta!

Listen you guys. Quit your quibbling over a few US$'s. I recently bought the RM6600 + PSW350 sub in Australia, and paid A$2,700 for the lot.

Now just go and get them and stop trying to split hairs over a few of your local dollars, cause I am totally jealous. Even if I fake an American accent I can't get them for what you guys pay!

Sounds like it is time to move. Kidding...heard that is is really beautiful Down Under.

My biggest problem is that I have a 2 year old and 13 week old child at home. So, I am trying to squeeze every little bit out of the money my wife is allowing me to spend.

You would LOVE Tasmania, where I live. It is such a pretty island (it is the heart-shaped island on the lower right hand side of a map of Australia).

Mind you I have visited the US twice and really love it. Aussies and Americans have very similar lifestyles, aims, desires, etc. Which is probably why we love your Polk Audio speakers over here!

My brother in law has the best of both worlds really. He has a home, wife and kids in Tassie, and lives and works in Philadelphia, and commutes every couple of months back and forth (not a great family life maybe, but with our Aussie Dollar being worth half of your US$, makes his buying power unreal!).

Anyway, re the issue of the two Polk systems, I have the 6600, and true, have not heard the cheaper version, but for this system, I am totally sold. If the price difference is not much, go for the dearer unit. Generally in life, you get what you pay for!

    Troy,

I am not sure where Richmond Air Base is, but Woomera is in South Australia, in the middle, on the bottom of the map, on mainland Australia. Woomera is being considered by NASA as a future training base for a manned mission to mars, because of it's bleak landscape. Tassie on the other hand is probably more like New Hampshire, much more temperate climate.

Woomera, I was only there briefly....was out in the middle of nowhere...

Richmond is just outside of Sydney. Very nice

    Hey wcostin,
Here is the diffrence between the RM6600 and the 6200
    1. The tweeter on the RM6600 is larger. 3/4" is the size on the RM6600 and 1/2" is the size of the tweeter on the RM6200.

    2. The cabnet on the RM6600 is more dense and that will provide greater clarity of mid range.

    Hope this helps!
