im first in line for the chance to get a pair of Carver Amazing Platinums for 200 bones. But they're in Minnetonka and I need to be there tomorrow. Theres a list of 30 others behind me, so they won't last. I won't be able to make it out. which is a total kick in the balls, but I'm willing to give up my opportunity. but you have to message me tonight and assure me that you will make it there when you need to be. This is a killer opportunity and I don't want someone wasting it if others are more capable.

FYI, The speakers are in storage and are in excellent condition. As well as perfect working order. Owner is aware how valuable they are, but wants them gone.

    Sure it's not a scam ?

In the age of Google, I find it hard to believe the dude would let them go that cheap.

One can never be positive, but I highly doubt it's a scam. I've spoken to the guy twice, he's a knowledgable audio guy, and was never tripped up on his story.

And the truth is, things like this happen all the time. Theyre just easier to find with the internet. I heard a story about a member here and a Marantz 9 that sold for a couple hundred bucks. If time is more important to him than money, than I could understand why someone would put a cheap price on something.

Not sure, Dom. But for me, it may as well be happening in FL since I cant make the 6.5 hour drive tomorrow :)

How's the weather down there, by the way? I'll be headed to the keys next weekend.

Carver Amazing Loudspeaker Platinums. These are the best speakers ever! If you have the home and power to
to run them then come pick them up. One of the tweeters may need replacing. It is currently separated from one
of the speakers. Great value to fix or use for parts. Just one speaker will pretty much beat everything out there.
I no longer have the proper equipment and environment to use them.

Description: Two-way hybrid with a ribbon operating full-range above about 100Hz, and a patented dipole bass system featuring four 12" woofers in a finite baffle loading. Nominal impedance: 6 ohms. Sensitivity: 88dB/1W/1m. Maximum SPL: 113dB symphonic music, 110dB rock music.
    Dimensions: 27.5" W by 10" D by 54" H.
Price: $2195/pair in oak, $2495/pair in black (1990); no longer available (2006). Approximate number of dealers: 170.

They are still reselling for over $1,000.

I am asking $200 or best offer.

Get them now while they're available. If you're a Carver fan, then you know how quick someone will jump on these things. Good luck to you.

I'm about 2 hours north of Miami on the east coast. Honestly, it's been pretty cool the last couple nights with mid 30's temps. The keys never get that cold though, so you should be fine as long as the wind stays down. Either way, it'll be a lot nicer than what you're getting up there in Chicago. Enjoy your trip, the keys are beautiful.

Thanks! it'll be my first time. Can't wait to get down there. And I couldn't have better timing as the bottom is about to fall out here temperature-wise. We haven't had more than 1/16th" of snow this whole winer thus-far and for the most part it's been in the 40's. Crazy!

Her boyfriend would go with his pickup to get them. I got the number too late tonight to call her back in St. Paul, but I will in the morning. She just had a permanent trachiotomy done, so he would be going on his own anyway.

newrival - as Drenis mentioned, I'm in Coon Rapids so I'm certainly close enough. Although I have no way to haul them outside of calling around, and I'm not really interested in them just for the fact I have no idea what the hell I would do with them - if you need something done, let me know. I could even pick them up and hold onto them if need be for someone else (just to know they are going to good hands)

I am interested to find out if this is an awesome deal, or if the guy just got someone to pay him $200 to take is firewood away. lol

I'll be in key west mostly. But we'll be driving down from Ft. Lauderdale so we will be checking out a lot of the keys throughout the week. But staying in KW.

I can't wait to do some fishing out there! My colleague was just telling me his latest fishing adventure down there where he kept catching these ugly fish that his brother told him were dreaded and valueless "sea catfish." He threw all 3 of them back. Later he was talking to the captain in dismay beacause all he'd caught were these stupid "sea catfish." After my colleague described the fish, the captain informed him they were cobia! the boat hands had a great laugh at his expense. So did I.

Thanks for the offer. Wish I'd seen it earlier! But thats ok. I would've been paying $200 for an asskicking from my wife, although i've paid less. I have a feeling someone got a hell of a deal!
