Okay, I can't wait to get home tonight and connect my SDA SRS 2s (pics to follow). Now comes my question; do I,

1) Strap the negatives on my Adcom to make it a common ground and run L/R off the Adcom and other 5 channels on my TGR3?
2) Run all 7 channels on the Sunfire (is it a common ground amp?) and look to sell the Adcom and upgrade to another 2 channel amp? Can the Sunfire run 2 speakers 4 ohm and 5 speakers at 8 ohm when watching movies?
3) Other?

Just working through options so when I get off work I will be ready to roll. Thanks.

The sunfire will have no trouble doing what you are asking it to do. It is common ground and will be a match made in heaven for the SDA's.

    Congrats and enjoy!

How do you know your 3 channel Adcom is not common ground?

Larry told me when I was checking into the speakers. I sent an email to Adcom last night to verify (no offense Larry). Do you have a differing opinion?

I am learning as I go - without blowing anything up. Not that long ago I was buying a HTIB - just plug in the cheap plastic red connector to the corresponding red input on the receiver...

Nope, not all Adcom's are non-common ground so I just wanted to make sure you had a reliable resource for your info.

No offense taken. back in the day when I had 2B's (almost 3 years ago first SDA's) I was looking at a 5503 and did call Adcom and they told me it wasn't common ground.

Call them they should still be there just to give you piece of mind, but as John stated you can use the sunfire as it is common ground.

The Sunfire is the only receiver out there I can think of that has the juice needed to get the job done without an external amp IMHO...

Absofrickenlutely! I started a new thread in case people over this one. However, I meant to add a link. Thanks for the reminder and advice.

Hooked them up last night to the Sunfire and they sound good - not great - but still have a few tweak and placement issues to work through.
