Packers in good hands...

It's nice to see that even if Rodgers can't play (knock on wood), the team is in good hands with Matt Flynn.

It's an interesting statistic too...the Packers all-time yards thrown (in a game) and TD's thrown (in a game) belongs NOT to one of the 3 Hall of Fame QB's (Starr, Favre, Rodgers), but to the backup QB to Rodgers.

500+ yards thrown, 6 TD passes, 133 passer rating...versus a playoff team that was trying to win.

Well done Matt. Well done.

Now...if only our defense didn't suck hardcore :(

Totally identify with that as a Pats fan. Sheeeesh talk about a **** Defense! You can't rely on Brady and receivers alone because, as we found out in that Giants SB. Pressure Brady, pressure Brady and have good defensive coverage, you keep the score down and you can win "late".

Sadly, I expect the Pats to exit in the first round. They may be able to score against the average team, but against a great defense, they will NOT be able to pull it out.

There may, fortunately, or unfortunately, be some parallels with GB. They look good, but can they survive a defensive contest where Rodgers can't put up the "Big" numbers? Defense is going to be the "winner" this year, IMO. And it may be a surprise as to who actually wins the Big Game!

Packers first then anyone but the Patriots. Tom Brady came to the golf club I worked twice in a month and was a complete jerk. Cheap, dirty and arrogant are a few words to describe Brady. Can you believe he didn't even tip his caddy? Didn't tip the valet staff who also washed his filthy clubs and filthy car. Nothing for the man in the men's locker room.
I think I may have mentioned this around here before but worth repeating since he is such a .... sucker.

They came up against a damn good defensive game against the Redskins (surprised everyone). None of the teams the Packers have beaten this season have put up as good a stand as the 'Skins did in that game. Rodgers was definitely not on his game, and our defense didn't get any takeaways (I can't remember for sure).

Basically, it wasn't a good game on either side of the ball. However, I think the Pack needed that wakeup call and they won't make the same mistakes again.

Of the teams going to the playoffs, the only one I'm really worried about is the Saints. I called the very first game of the season (Saints vs Packers) as a shootout, and it definitely was. Brees is the real deal as far as a QB goes, and it's going to be one hell of a game if they meet again.

Speaking of parallels...I fear the Packers may be in for the same fate as our dear Badgers. Both with weak defenses, but have put up huge offensive numbers all year to compensate. Let's just hope the Saints won't do what the Ducks did if that matchup does happen.

Coach McCarthy should have been coach of the year last year. He won the Super Bowl with 16 players on IR. The Packers should be able to repeat.

While I have to agree Flynn is a good quarterback, Rodgers is one of the best to ever play the position.

If Flynn has to play and Rodgers is on the sidelines helping him out that will be a boost, but in my mind the Packers chance for another ring will be greatly diminished without Rodgers behind center.

Packers have it made. The refs don't even count other teams' touchdowns against them. There's no way they can lose!

Maybe the Lions should learn when to challenge a call and not use them all up. Doesn't matter anyway, the Lions will not beat the Saints.

They were right to challenge that "fumbled" kickoff. Packers get fumbles that aren't fumbles and touchdowns don't count against them. There's no way they can lose.

The only time I remember anything like an "obvious" touchdown not being called versus the Packers was in the Lions' game...what other examples do you have?

+1000. Packers haven't seen a defense like 49ers yet. It's going to be a battle between 49ers and Packers in NFC championship game.

I've got a hand for the Packers.....and I won't tell you where it's been either.

Ok, I am from Chicago and all that.

Seriously, nothing but respect for Rodgers and the Pack, they earned it last year. This year seems like it could be anyones game come superbowl. Just hope it won't be too lopsided like a few in the past.

The only team I see keeping up with the Packers in a shoot-out would be the Saints.
However, like we saw with the CHIEFS (lol thanks DMara) any NFL team can beat any other team on any given day.

I'm such a Pack fan that I have blinders on to the rest of the league...who else is in the playoffs already, and who's vying for a spot still?
