what are your favorite Roku channels?

I got a Roku for X-Mas and i find it tough to find full length programming.. all I seem to see are "clips" clips or single skits of shows.. not the full episode. Case in point a IFC show called Portlandia. I want to watch the full show not just
one 3 minute skit from one episode.

anyone else finding the same thing? I have Hulu Plus which is ok... but even Hulu+ doesn't have as much current
programming as they lead you to believe. I like shows from Food Network, HGTV, and other home improvement type shows and some cooking reality shows too.. i'm not finding any of those at all. So a bit disappointed at Hulu+ right now.

How do I find a list of private channels?

    The ROKU was never designed to stream "free" full episodes or provide mainstream TV channels. It's designed to be an interphase to stream subscription/pay content like Hulu or Netflix or Amazon, etc. Hulu was never designed to replace Dish or Cable and the ROKU is not marketed or aimed to replace broadcast TV. It's an alternative because you can stream alternate content, but it will never be a direct replacement for Dish or Cable, they will never allow it unless they (the content providers) get a cut and then you'll pay almost as much as for current Cable or Satellite.

    It's a nice addition to Cable or Satellite, but not a replacement and if it ever become a direct replacement you'll pay as much or more for the same content you get on Cable or Satellite. I could see it being a "pay as you go" type service/device so you pay for individual episodes or seasons of your favorite shows. Think the iTunes model. Which means in the end you will end up paying more for the convenience of picking and choosing only the content you are interested in.

    +1. Honestly I bought it for netflix and pandora, I think your expectations are a little high for the price IMHO. I've been pretty happy with mine so far.

    I bought a sony snp100 for $50 at walmart and its got rca ,component , optical , digital and hdmi out . Netflix is good and alot of the other free channels but its only got hulu plus and I signed up to watch Fringe and they dont even have complete seasons so FFFF that service

    I hear there are woodworking shows on one of their channels, but so far I can't find any. Mostly watch Netflix on mine.
