New to Polk...could use some input
Building home, will be putting in theater area in basement... Will be using projector and 7.1 with all Polk speakers.
Still piecing together speakers (trying to find some good prices online)... Only experience with home theater has been with Bose lifestyle systems.
Front speakers on wall: LC 65i
Rear surround in ceiling: LCI RTS 100
Deciding on side speakers, center, and subwoofer... Still need to purchase receiver.
I want the best quality sound, even at lower volumes. I will be using a company to pre wire basement area and assemble. Could use them to purchase the needed equpment, but figured i would get honest opinions here.
Will primarily use for tv and movies.
Suggestion on remainng equipment? Receiver? Do i need additional amps? As you can tell, I'm new to this... Any help/thoughts are appreciated!
Thank you.

Forgot to add... Have a chance to buy an Onkyo TX-SR707 receiver for $300. Will this support this system?
And, in you're opinion, where should the money be invested in a system? Front speakers? Rear speakers? Sub, etc.
Thank you. -
For a seamless front stage, you'd want your L/C/F to be of the same series i.e; RTi or Monitor or LCi. If the 707 has pre-outs, then you could add external amplification for more power to run a 7.1.
Subs in my opinion would be more important than surrounds investment wise, yes, you'll need surrounds for a 7.1, but a good powerful sub will give you that "theater" feel.Source: BRP Panasonic UB9000, CDP Emotiva ERC3 - Display: LG OLED EVO 83 C3 - Pre/Pro: Marantz 8802A - Amplification: Emotiva XPA-DR3, XPA-2 x 2, XPA-6, Speakers, Mains/2ch-Focal Kanta No2's, C-LSiM706, S-702F/X, RS-RTiA9's, WS-RTiA9's, FH-RTiA3's, Subs - Epik Empire x 2

You could just use LC65i's for the center and surrounds. Keep all the speakers the same.
Why 7.1? I'd just go 6.1 and put the extra money into a bigger AVR and a subwoofer like the DSW Pro600.CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint. -
I doubt the txsr 707 will properly run a theater all by itself. Used @ $300 may be a lot. It's difficult getting a htr receiver to actually power a system without an extra amp or two. If you do it will be expensive. My theory is to get a quality htr with all the latest hook-ups...usb, wifi, hdmi and ensure it has pre-outs for additional power.Main Family Room: Sony 46 LCD, Sony Blue Ray, Sony DVD/VCR combo,Onkyo TXNR 708, Parasound 5250,

Since you are getting the LCI's you will definately need separate amplification. Get a 7 channel amp of at least 200wpc @ 8ohms, that way it will have plenty of power to push the 4ohm speakers. That Onkyo does have preouts to add an amp.Marantz AV-7705 PrePro, Classé 5 channel 200wpc Amp, Oppo 103 BluRay, Rotel RCD-1072 CDP, Sony XBR-49X800E TV, Polk S60 Main Speakers, Polk ES30 Center Channel, Polk S15 Surround Speakers SVS SB12-NSD x2

Thank you all for the feedback... Much appreciated and very helpful.

I wouldn't hesitate running a 6.1 on a higher model Onkyo but that's just me. And yes, I'm aware that they are 4ohm rated.CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.
