advice on h/u of blu/ray player

I need this info to h/u my br-inlaws' new blu/ray player. The way I have mine set up is w/ a short HDMI cord directly into my Yammaha rx-v665 to HDMI1.The only other way to do this as far as I know would be to go directly into the tv from the player.I think the avr option is out it's not that advanced and his tv is hung and not sure if we can snake another cable to it.So is that it the only 2 choices or is there some other way that I don't know of? He has a 55'' Panny plasma w/ a lame Panasonic htib that is not very good.

    You can use an hdmi or composite cable to hook up to the television for picture and then use digital coax or toslink cable for audio to the AVR. You might have to tweak some settings in the dvd player menu but should work that way.

    thanks for another option.I think he actually snaked the cable already( no insulated wall made it easy) and it's working going from tv to player.
