Gave my wife a Squeezebox Radio for Christmas. Bought her the red one and gave it to her on Christmas morning, but she wanted the white one, which just arrived today. I just got it all set up for her with radio stations and alarms. She's psyched because we live in an area with horrible am/fm radio reception, and all of the stations she likes have streaming equivalents. So now she can finally actually listen to her radio stations, not to mention access our whole cd collection from her clock radio. She's also very happy about the ability to set different alarms on different days, since she doesn't always wake up at the same time every day.

We'll see how it goes, initial reaction is pretty positive, but you never know how well the wife will enjoy high-tech gizmos. Squeezebox is pretty user friendly though, so I'm very hopeful that she continues to like it. Wish me luck...
Good music, a good source, and good power can make SDA's sing. Tubes make them dance.

Keep us informed. I think my wife might like one on her nightstand, too.
So, if you have the alarm set to play music, what happens if you lose your internet connect? I'd hate to have to be dependent on Comcast...

I have a Squeezebox Radio that I use for my alarm clock and like it very much. I would recommend getting the battery pack for it, though. If you don't, it won't wake her up when the power goes out.

I got my dad the SB Radio for christmas last year. I think he wanted the Boom, but I figured this would be easier to pack on his twice a year trips to India and his annual trip to Europe. As long as he can access the server back here in the U.S. (his or mine), it does the trick. But he also likes the classic rock stations.

Anyway hope she likes it! Plus she can check out Pandora and Spotify now too.

Day 4. So far so good, no problems encountered and she's definitely liking it. Today was a big test, it was the first day she needed the alarm clock to wake her up for work. All went well. I think we have a winner!

Ok, so 7 weeks or so post-Christmas, and this morning I saw my wife bring her battery-powered Squeezebox Radio into the bathroom today as she's doing her hair/makeup. So I asked her "So final verdict... You love this thing?" Her answer was a resounding "YES!" as she pushed one of the preset radio stations. And my wife does not tolerate electronics easily. First glitch and she's generally looking to throw the thing out the window. So I'd have to say if anyone's thinking about one of these things for their better half, go for it. If my wife loves the thing, so will yours!

I have a red one as well and I use it upstairs in the bedroom. I have no complaints whatsoever.
