SDA's. Is this a good deal?

I've heard a lot of good things about the SDA line, was just wondering if I should jump on these:

    There are better SDA's to be had. Look for 1C's or SRS2's if that is the size of speaker you'd like to have.

    I have those SDA's and I love them... price is a little high but that is up to you and how much you are willing to spend. There may be better models ( I also have the 1C's ) but the ones pictured are really pleasant to listen to IMO. If you are ever in Upstate, PM me, I might be willing to sell my SDA 2A's at some point.

    Just keep in mind that whatever pair you buy, you need to factor in the cost of upgrading the XO's. :biggrin:

    I know. I'm getting the feeling that the 2-channel rabbit hole runs very deep. I just got an HK3490 and my M60s sound like different speakers already. I'm gonna have to get the old A/D/S monsters with the 12" woofers down from the attic to see how they sound on the new receiver. I emailed the guy about the SDAs and he said the price is flexible so I have to make a decision. Will let y'all know.

    Do you know which model of SDA2s they are ? I have a pair of 2Bs that look exactly like those do. I gave approx. $170 (w/p/blade cable) and drove 1hr. each way to get mine. If they're 2Bs and you can dress em up looks-wise, they could be a great pair for you. Good luck !

    Truer words never spoken on this forum anyway. I have been falling in this rabbit-hole now for 4 years and have yet to find bottom. The weird thing is that this hobby is so damn fun that I hope I can afford to just keep falling.:cheesygrin::cool:

    I own a pair of 2A's that look just like the ones in the ad along with a pair of 1C's with the wood top and bottom plates and a pair of SRS's. I have only modded the SRS's. I listen to the SRS's the most because they are just bad ****, but the 2A's are actually sound better than any other speaker I own besides maybe the VMPS Tower II's. But the VMPS must be placed carefully as the bass can be overwhelming and do not have the SDA sound. I have just stored the 1C's due to their lackluster sound with plans to mod them in the future to see if they can improve by any dramatic amount. If i had to choose one pair of speakers from the many I have heard and/or own, it would be the SDA 2A's that look just like the ones in the ad. They sound great and i could listen to them with no fatigue whatsoever. One day I may mod them and see how they could improve but for now they beat out everything else I've heard, even without mods.
    If con is the opposite of pro, is Congress the opposite of Progress?!

    If in the future you are, shoot me a PM. For now, I'm gonna wait it out as getting these right now would be purely an impulse buy and would surely put me in the doghouse with the boss. I'm really looking for a deal on the ML EM's. Those are my dream speakers.
