Anyone else trade in a crap digital for $50 target coupon valid same-day in-store on any digital camera except the Nikon DSLRs/lenses?
I've scoured goodwills for cheap cameras and traded them all in for new ones! Got a L105 Nikon tonight for $50....and a Canon SX130 for $100 yesterday.

How are you getting anything worthwhile for your trade-ins? I went here tonight (http://target.nextworth.com/) to get some online quotes for a couple of my cameras.. the last one, a decent Nikon S210 point and shoot 5MP in great shape.. they said was worth a whopping 75 cents! Woo!!!! Pbbbbbbb....."I did not slap you. I high-fived your face."

During their promotion (check the target ad) - they give you $50 for ANY working digital camera, regardless of what the nextworth site says. Just make sure they check the correct options in their computer. You have to go to a target with a mobile kiosk (cell phone rep). The rep actually works for radio shack, but is in Target. They will take the camera and make sure it turns on and takes a pic. After they they select a few options and print you a $50 coupon. The limitations are the coupon is only good the same day, and cannot be used on DSLRs or their lenses. Otherwise its open season. Once this is off promotion (Sunday), the cameras go back to being worthless as trade in.Main Surround -

Can you use the coupon for anything, or does it need to be towards another cam? And any idea if they are stackable? Guessing not65" Sony X900 (XBR-65X900E)

Wow... Nice deal on the SX 130. I love mine. -
They are not stackable. 1 per transaction. Only good towards another digital camera. Excludes the 1 series SLR by Nikon and any nikon SLR lenses.
Some people have had luck getting Target to apply it to a Nook, but that is YMMV (99% failure rate).
I used it on a bunch of cameras so far. I have a stack of them waiting to be given as gifts. I mean giving a $200 camera that I only paid $50 for? That's value right there.Main Surround -

Very interesting. I might have to check on this for the wifey. She's got a Nikon Coolpix, but the whole focusing thing just never really caught on with her. Thinking about getting her a newer touchscreen. I've heard of a couple models that you can actually touch the screen, and it focuses where you touch and shoots the picture all at once. I guess it would be similar to a cell phone by design.65" Sony X900 (XBR-65X900E)

The camera is on sale for 100 dollars (from $200).
BTW, thanks for the heads up, wife is on the way to get a couple of them.

Okay, maybe I'm just a bit slow here (and I probably am). But if they aren't stackable, how are you getting a $200 camera for only $50?
You have to be smart about how you use the coupon. Applying it to a normal priced camera nets you $50 off. Look for a camera that interests you that is ALSO on sale. The 100HS Canon is like $60 off this week, combine with $50 coupon and you get $110 off a camera that is normally $179.
The SX130 I think is normally $250 or something like that, on sale $149 - 50 = 100. The Nikon L105 is normally $200, on sale $100 -50 coupon = $50 camera. Stack the coupon with a sale. If you read the fine print it also says you can use it on a kindle...but you almost always have to argue with a manager to get it.Main Surround -

We had been looking for a camera for our 7 year old daughter for Christmas. She loves taking pictures, but we didn't think it was practical to spend over $100 for a camera for a 7 year old. However, after reading the thread I called my wife. My daughter had gotten a few gift cards for Christmas from friends (close to $50 worth) so we told her she could take an old camera and her gift cards to trade it in for a new camera. She was excited and got the Nikon.
Then my wife traded in another old one (close to 10 years old) that my 3 year old had been using. She got the Canon sx130 for herself. The only problem was apparently my 3 year old was way more attached to the camera then we realized. There was much sadness and crocodile tears; the saleswoman said she felt bad enough to give the trade in back if she could have!!!!!Shawn

Thanks Tuan,
I went checking and found a web site where they had many, many posts about this promotion. While there I read a guy got his Sony Mavica ( and I have/had one that worked) and he went and got a newer camera. So I got mine out, charged it and went in after I called to see if a Radio Shack/Rep was in my local Target. The Rep told me I had to get a camera only. I was there for that so I didn't mind the restriction.
I was going to get another newer Kodak for a Reg. price of 89.00 -the 50.00. I really wanted a camera on sale plus the 50 disc. also. But if the Kodak was on sale it would've been a no brainer, 16 megapixal camera for less than 40.00. I still wonder if I made the right call by not just getting it anyway.
I really wanted the Nikon L-105 but they had -0. Not even the display.
I ended up getting a Nikon COOLPIX S6100 for 80.00+tax total/final.
I've read a ton of reviews since I got home and it seems to be a hit or miss model but mainly a hit.
Thanks again!!Most people just listen to music and watch movies. I EXPERIENCE them. -
I did this too and picked up a sony. Great deal!

I wanted the S6200 or S9100 but couldn't justify the prices. I did get the L105 however. If you really want it I'm sure we can work something outMain Surround -

Well Tuan,
I charged the battery and put a memory card in and fired it up to see what the people who disliked the touch screen were writing about.
Man, I think this touch screen is cool and VERY responsive right now. I think it's fast and works perfect to me
The wide angle type lens and it's pick-up if you can call it that is awsome as well compared to my Kodak Easy share 530. It seems like a hit or miss on it's history of reliability though. I'll do some research online on the L-105 now. Most people just listen to music and watch movies. I EXPERIENCE them. -
I'm going to keep this S6100 and give it a try. It seems like it will be more compact for me to carry around in my pocket if need be.
Tuan, Thanks for the offer though. Most people just listen to music and watch movies. I EXPERIENCE them. -
