SRT Subwoofer Question

Hi, I'm trying to determine if there are blown woofers in the SRT subs I just picked up. The top driver in each box measure fine (a little under 4 ohms) but I cant get readings on the bottom woofer in either sub. Is this supposed to be a passive unit? If not, perhaps I need to take them out to examine further. There is one MW1080 and one MW1082 per box. Are there any suitable replacement drivers available, if necessary? Thanks!

They should both be drivers. There is no passive in the SRT sub. I believe they are both 4ohm speakers.

Well, it looks like I new some new drivers lol. Does anyone have any suggestions for the 10"s in the SRTs?

Parts Express all the way... They have a chart on measuring the rims and then the inside frameworks hole that will be needed to fit the basket in, pluss the depth of the woofers for rear clearances. Each speaker has at the bottom of its discription a code.....
A-rim size, B- basket size, C -depth
I always love picking through all the possibilities!! I'm like a kid in a candy shop..

You probably want to try and get the driver parameters from Polk CS if you can. From what I remember, these were some special drivers that had an exaggerated quality (moving mass I believe but don't quote me on that). For those that are interested, you can check out Matthew Polk's White Paper on HVCD (High Velocity Compression Drive) which is where the idea for these came from. I have read the white paper and its semi easy reading not too technical. Cheers.
