Trying to get an idea of what LSi-15 owners are using to power their speakers. Amp size for good sound
I just ordered an Emotiva XPA-2. 500 watts per channel at 4 ohms. I know I can go larger like Mono's, but I can't afford it right now..

Well I am using a 125x5 watt Carver amp that does about 200ish per channel @ 4 ohm on my LSi 15's.

Personally though I would look used if your comfortable with buying used. You might be able to save some money and get an amp thats just as good.

What exactly are you asking? You already ordered an amp with a ton of power, and I'm sure you know that. So what are you trying to find out here?

Everybody is powering their speakers differently. In most cases, the more power the better. That amp will be fine. I've owned the XPA-2 and it really does bring the house down. It's more than you'll ever need your speakers.

You need a lot more to get the full use of these speakers. I will be using 500x2 in about two months. Right now I am using 185x2
    and it works the amp..

Ive got the Adcom gfa-7500 that says 225 @ 4ohms x 5 and love it. Wouldn't mind a dedicated 2 channel amp for the front though.

You should be good to go. I used to drive mine with the MPS-1 then XPA-5. I found that the MPS-1 is a much better match for the LSis than the XPA-5. Incredible detail, clarity, more space between instruments, and killer bass to boot.

I used an 80 watt Simaudio integrated amplifier...I find the power numbers recommended are rather numerous. Any dedicated amplifier will drive LSis fine with a high quality per-amplifier section.

Even if he was talking about watts, not amps, you still don't have the right idea. There are a lot of crappy, high wattage amps out there that won't sound nearly as good on those speakers as any number of low-wattage, high-quality amps.

I really like ICEpower amps with the LSi series. I built a 250wpc ICEpower amp for my father-in-laws LSi15s and they sound great.

I use a pair of 70 watt mono block tube amps during the winter and ether a 40 watt tube integrated amp or a 20 watt integrated. And unless I'm trying to blow the house down the 20 watt el84 based amp sound the best.
If life had more tubes it would be a lot smoother.

you won't get a good average amp size by looking at club polk owners... Most of us (including me) are way above average and well compensated for - as in - we must be compensating for something......
    Mains.............Polk LSi15 (Cherry)
    Center............Polk LSiC (Crossover upgraded)
Surrounds.......Polk LSi7 (Gloss Black - wood sides removed and crossovers upgraded)
    Subwoofers.....SVS 25-31 CS+ and PC+ (both 20hz tune)
    Pre\Pro...........NAD T163 (Modded with LM4562 opamps)
    Amplifier.........Cinepro 3k6 (6-channel, 500wpc@4ohms)
