I picked up a pair of Peavey Phase Reference Monitors today, Model PRM 281 for $10. The cabs look like granite and are very heavy. Need foam but look and sound to be worth it. Anybody ever seen these or know anything about them?

They get loud but sound pretty awful to me. $10 doesn't cost you anything so get them refoamed and re-evaluate. Maybe upgrade the xovers to trim down that shrill high end.
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

I can't find anything about these anywhere. Not even on Peavey's site? Rare bird maybe?
