I don't know why I've waited this long to start french pressing my coffee. Sooo good. It retains all the rawness of the coffee, nothing is sacrificed. Any coffee drinkers out there? What's your style?

Most times I use my Keurig but when I have the time the French Press comes out. It is just so much better.

Whole Starbucks beans gently ground daily, through a Starbucks Barista cappuccino machine, Keurig single brew machine or standard drip coffeemaker. We go through just over a pound a week.

Until earlier this month, I used a french press 1-2 times a day for the last 7+ years. Now that I have a Keurig, I'll only be using it on occasion.

FYI, be sure to use a burr grinding for the best results.

Two thirds of a cup of fresh ground 8-oclock Columbian with an old fasioned perculater. Only thing i find that brews it hot enough. Black, no sugar.

I've been using a French Press for about the past 10 years. Love it

I like the full flavor of French Press but not crazy about the grittiness.
I?ve been using a Chemex pot for about two years now. The Chemex bonded filter paper is what really makes this way of brewing great in my opinion. I have to agree with Mike, a good burr grinder is mandatory whatever type of brew you prefer. The beans should be ground right before the brew rather than the whole bag done in the store. I?m partial to South American and East African beans.

I personally do not like French Press, or the French. LOL

I have a B&D grinder and 8 o'clock coffee. Grind it up right before brewing in my Bunn.

    Best coffee in the house.

LOL !! Yeah, the wife and I have a saying "eff the French". That Bunn is the best auto drip machine out there imho. Fast, hot, but no pause. Had Bunns for 20 years, but the wife wanted a pause feature, so to the curb it went. Really love those machines. I think my next coffee machine will be an auto expresso machine like a Jura, that has double hoppers for espresso and regular drip.

We've been French pressing coffee for years. We bought a water cooler/heater that heats the water to 185 degrees, so it's almost painless making coffee in the morning.
My equipment sig felt inadequate and deleted itself.

The French Press comes out whenever we have a special desert in the afternoon or for after dinner. A great invention with the right freshly ground (medium to large) freshly roasted coffee.

My personal preference is a double espresso pull first thing in the morning with some nice frothed milk for a cappuccino :)....always before 10:00am...after that its espresso straight.

I probably drink to much coffee, especially this time of year.

I use my bodum 51oz french press daily. I usually carry a thermos with me in the car and this brews enough for the morning starter and a almost full thermos.

I have a Krups Pump Espresso Machine. For use when someone wants a cappuccino, latte or espresso. I generally drink Lattes, but after a really good meal nothing hits the spot like an espresso.

I also have an older Krups Carafe drip coffee maker. It doesn't get much use except when company is over and they prefer the taste of drip coffee.

I freshly grind beans with a burr grinder. I recently picked up a hand milk frother. One of the folks that comes over regularly says my coffee is too strong, but she will drink it if I make it cappuccino style. Easier to do it by hand, than fire up the espresso machine to make one cup of cappuccino.

I usually go through 2.5 to 3 pounds a month. Usually get my coffee at Central Market or at Starbucks. I prefer the bolder blends and lately I have been on a Sumatra Jag.

If I'm on the road, my usual would be 12 - 14 oz triple shot latte.

Sipping on a good cup of Coffee always makes me smile.

    Heck yea!

I've been buying Kirkland brand coffee from Costco that is already grounded up, but am wondering if I'm missing out by not "burr grinding" whole coffee beans.

Try grinding the beans of your preference right before brewing and you will certainly notice a difference. I use a Baratza Viruoso grinder ( http://coffeegeek.com/reviews/grinders/baratzavirtuoso )
I also buy in small batches recently roasted that last me about two weeks at most.

Always grind your own, get whole bean and a cheap burr grinder. Honestly, I don't know how some can drink that ground folgers or maxwell house stuff thats been sitting in that carton for 6 months, taste like toilet water.....not that I know how toilet water tastes.

Jamaican Blue Mountain is my fav, just too darn expensive to have every day.

Have you french pressed that ****? Soooo good, even for grounded coffee. I will however be purchasing this burr grinder contraption to further enhance my coffee experience!

I'm going to try this Jamaican Blue Mountain just because it has the most kick **** name I've ever heard.

Try Kona if you like milder coffee. (also Very expensive) Below is a coupon for COH from Brad's deals which makes it a little cheaper. PS: they also have stronger coffees too.

I've actually tried the Organic Kona. Really quite smooth but it leaves a funny after taste. Was this your experience?

I've only tried COH's plus a couple others that weren't designated as organic, loved them all and didn't notice anything but a very smooth "finish". What does your water taste like? That can make a huge difference in how a coffee tastes !

We have a Culligan filtration system at our kitchen sink. I tried the Kona coffee at a local coffeehouse. The only thing I didn't like was the aftertaste. The coffee was perfect until that strange taste on my tongue (I've had it on more than one occasion). There is lots to try apparently. Time to start ordering, thanks for the link!

Love the press. Usually have to hit the Gaggia auto button for a shot so I can wake up enough to load the press. hehe. Been roasting my own beans for several years. You wouldn't believe the range of flavors if you haven't tried it! Very economical too, as green beans are much cheaper. You can dial in the roast just like you want and it's always fresh. Hard to beat freshly roasted CR Tarrazu or Ethiopian Harar Horse from the burlap bag in the basement at half the retail cost. And blending, like a Mocha-Java or complex espresso adds another dimension to the fun/art.

Off to the kitchen for some joe. Cheers!
