Balanced vs Unbalanced IC's

Currently my whole system CDP,AVR and AMP are connected by unbalanced IC's
I'm am planning to incorporate a Pre-Amp into the rig.
My question is the AMP and Pre-Amp has Balanced inputs. Would it be beneficial if I go with a balanced IC between the AMP and Pre-Amp while the rest of the system is unbalanced?
The run will only be about 4 feet.
Thanks!

One small difference that could come into play is that with a balanced connection between the two, you'd be eliminating possible current flow between the two via sharing grounds that comes with the unbalanced connection. Mixing current loops would be not possible when going with the balanced.
That source equipment is unbalanced has nothing to do with the decision about the pre to amp connection.
