7.1 analog question

Alright, this might be a stupid question with a very easy answer but I'll ask and find out.

A few weeks ago, I got a new to me marantz dv9500 sacd player. I have the player hooked up to my Marantz sr-7002 with 6 interconnects (5 speakers and the sub) into the 7.1 analog input on the back of the receiver. I love the sound and everything works amazingly for multi channel disks. However, here comes the question. When I play cd's there doesn't seem to be a way for me to switch the receiver into 7.1 mode without physically walking to the receiver, opening the face, and pushing the 7.1 button. And likewise, there is no way for me to switch back out of it after I'm finished listening without hitting the button again.

Am I missing something on the remote? Is it labeled as a different output that I'm not aware of? Am I an idiot for hooking it up like this to begin with?

Any input is appreciated as it's a pain in the **** when switching from listening to a cd to watching tv and not being able to let the harmony remote take care of my issues.

The Marantz remote should have 7.1 multiChannel input button to toggle. Marantz remote is stupidly awkward and counterproductive. I use Logitech Harmony One remote and never looked back.
I am sorry, I have no opinion on the matter. I am sure you do. So, don't mind me, I just want to talk audio and pie.

Does your remote not say 7.1 above the 4 key? 7.1 (analog) is a seperate input on receivers, so it will be setup just like a CD/DVD/SAT input would be. Are you asking for more help because this is not working for you? Or is your remote different?

I do not have this receiver, nor have I ever seen it. But doing some googlin' - it seems as though the right answer has already been given unless there is more info that we are missing? (without knowing, I'm assuming the remote is the one on the left, unless that is an image for a programmable generic, which is very possible)

Page 68 in the manual - Press the 7.1 CH INPUT button on the front panel or press 7.1 CH on the remote controller to switch the 7.1 channel input.
