OOOOH Rare speakers - info please
Hi all...
Does anyone have information on 'Saba' speakers. They are from Germany, and rare, but I can't find anything. Someone local to me has put up four 'Model 80' speakers, and a Saba 9120 Receiver. I found one post on Audiokarma that had very vague information, and that's really it. Thanks in advance for any info you may lend, and happy holidays to everyone!

If they are the ones I am thinking of they have eight drivers in each cab kind of all over the place.
They are known for there green drivers. Especially a 6x9 looking one that is very good at mids and highs. A ton of DIYers like this speaker.
I have not heard them in a million years and don't really remember what they sounded like. -
There are some on eBay right now.--Gary--
Onkyo Integra M504, Bottlehead Foreplay III, Denon SACD, Thiel CS2.3, NHT VT-2, VT-3 and Evolution T6, Infinity RSIIIa, SDA1C and a few dozen other speakers around the house I change in and out. -
Here's a brochure from ebay--Ad says "Model 80", brochure says "Monitor 80" so not sure that's the correct one.

I didn't see model 80's on Ebay...I saw a brochure only. I'll recheck. The SABA's that were on there were expensive though. Not sure where the Model 80's fit in. I did request pictures, but no response yet. I found a few pics and stats on the receiver - but no idea if it sounds good or not Also, if it is a German receiver, are there any power issues wtih plugging it in. Inquiring minds want to know
Anyone actually hear any SABA speakers?

I am thinking of ones that are much older than that. Those look like just about everything the Japanese manufacturers made in the 80's.
Wouldn't expect much from them. -
Here are some links for you. Hope this is the correct model since I found next to nothing on the model 80. If this is the wrong model skip to the last link. Good luck on your quest.

http://www.ebay.ch/itm/Saba-9240S-Receiver-/130441777244?pt=DE_Elektronik_Computer_Audio_Hi_Fi_Receiver&hash=item1e5eef905c I posted this link for you because you can always contact the vintage audio store in Berlin to see if they have more info. for you on the speakers and receiver.
Also here is a link to a Saba forum. http://saba.magnetofon.de/Everything matters. That is all.
Money cannot buy happiness, but it sure can buy a bad **** boat to pull up along side it though. -
I COULD ask my wife to translate, since she's a german teacher, BUT - then she'd know I was looking into new audio gear - and that's a no-no Anyone care to make out anything written? And woudl still love to hear if anyone has actually heard any SABA gear.
Thanks much for the links!
