Hey guys,

I picked up a ton of vinyl from a local seller who unfortunately no longer had the hearing to enjoy this hobby any longer. The word from the wise man was to wear protection at loud concerts and never use headphones for metal. At any rate, in addition to my big vinyl purchase, I also picked up an Akai TT seen above in the link.

I believe it is an Akai AP-B20/C turntable. The dust cover is a little scratched and the hinges are broken but the table itself still spins and plays music. In fact, the guy thinks the stylus is brand new.

For anyone who wants this table, PM me and we can arrange a pickup location near Columbus, OH.

Mike

I actually mapquested it, as I'm probably a good candidate for a TT. But, for 12 hours worth of gas - I think I will pass on this opportunity. Definately interested though if you happen to be passing through Minneapolis. lol

    Looks Nice!

I have 2 Akai Reel to Reel player/recorders that are well built and don't doubt they built a good turntable too.

As a sidenote, that youtube video shows the belt installer directly touching the belt and belt contact surfaces. I've proably changed a hundred belt drive turntable drive belts and have never let finger oil touch anything but the inside of a lightweight glove.

If you want smooth 33-1/3 from your belt drive TT, clean belt contact surfaces with American Recorder S-721H (or anhydrous alcohol in a pinch) being careful not to get it into bearings. Never get finger oils on the drive belt or surfaces the belt contacts.

Looks like a nice TT. Too far away for a pick up! Hope someone local gets this. I certainly could use another table myself, not a high end guy when it comes to TT. Entry is fine!

Any of you Ohio guys need a TT for the new year?

    Nice offer SS!
