Yet another Squeezebox Touch Question

After wading through many threads trying to find the answer to my problem, I have decided to post a new thread. I apologize if this has been discussed before. Anyway, I received a Squeezebox Touch for Christmas. I am runnig a wired connection to my router. I am using the digital coax out to my Denon receiver. Here is my problem/question. How do you get the Squeezebox Touch to recognize an external hard drive connected to my desktop? The Touch will recognize my laptop on my nextwork. It even recognizes my desktop in which I have my external hard drive connected to, but when I select my desk top library on the touch menu, none of my external hard drive files come up. I checked to make sure my desktop was recognizing the hard drive, and it is. I have all my cds saved in lossless to the WD 2 TB hard drive, but I can't use it GRRR. Thanks in advance for any help.

Did you install the Logitech Media server software on the computer w/ the hard drive connected to it? Once you do that and select where the music is, the SB will see all the music.Dali Optikon 1Mk2

Thanks for the quick reply. I did install the logitech software on the computer. The Touch is recognizing the computer, but not the external hard drive. How do I select where the music is? Do I have to install the logitech software on the external hard drive too? Sorry for the newb questions.Onkyo Pr-sc 5509

Look for "media folders" in your basic settings, after clicking advanced settings in LMS. Type in the path to your external hard drive. Mine, for example is...D:\Music:
Open Logitec media server
Click the advanced tab
Click advanced settings
The basic settings tab will open first
Under "Media Folders", type the path to your music files
You'll want to use a simple directory structure if at all possible.Source: Bluesound Node 2i - Preamp/DAC: Benchmark DAC2 DX - Amp: Parasound Halo A21 - Speakers: MartinLogan Motion 60XTi - Shop Rig: Yamaha A-S501 Integrated - Source: Rotel CD14MkII CD Player - Speakers: Elac Debut 2.0 B5.2 -
