I've been looking at these and have read many user reviews which have voiced many contradictory comments...too bright, too dull, etc.
I am looking for a good pair of speakers for under $500.00 that will be primarily for listening to music (classical and jazz-mostly acoustic/non-electric instruments). A two channel setup with a Denon AVR-590 receiver and am hoping for as "natural" a sound as possible.

So, are these speakers up to the task?
I'm also considering the RTI8's which Polk has on the ebay site for $400.00/pair refurbished.

Is the refurb route a good option? The prices are sure better.

With just an av receiver. I would recommend the M 70's. Mine are not too bright w a. Marantz sr5001 w 90 watts per channel . My Rti12 's need at least 165 watts to come alive. Just my two cents. I am sure you will get lots of help here. Good luck, Darryl. ..... My Rti12's were Polk referbs. Looked like new to me. Always a good deal from Polk.

I've had M70's since March and until I moved them to my HT last week...I used them exclusively to listen to vinyl. I listen to a lot of jazz and blues. Close my eyes and it sounds like JL Hooker is plucking away in my living room...so sweet. I pushed them with a Sony STR-DH100 and have had no issues. With your budget you could add the PSW-505 and have an amazing sound IMO. You already have the receiver for it.
