After a month of research,a little listening, and some kind advice from a Super Nice Polk member(Pearsall),my wife let me pull the trigger on a new pair of KEF Q900's! I'm so excited i cant stand it! I ordered Sat. night, and hope to recieve them by Fri. I feel like a 9 yr old waiting for santa to come! The only downer is she said i had to get rid of my RT2000i's,and my RT600i's:sad: The RT400 get to stay,as these were my 1st Polk speakers, and have a special place in my heart!(plus i really love the way they sound!) Cant wait for Fri. Merry Christmas Everyone!

Congrats, nice to see people get juiced up with new toys. I have no doubt you will love the improvement in sound you will get and you'll be asking yourself why you didn't do it years before. The downside will be you'll start wanting to upgrade everything else in your system to make those new speaks shine.

^That bug has already hit hard! lol My financial situation is not limited,(i am not rich, but i am not poor)however my WAF is! I have already been searching on line to add the Q600 center, and am tempted to buy the Q700,or Q500 for my surrounds! All the reviews on this system/speakers are through the roof! And to top things off,Accessories For Less has 20% off all KEF speakers through the end of the year/free shipping! Those SOB's are killing me! And to put more fuel on the flame,my Wife has to work today, while my Son and I sit at home talking about how great of a deal that is! Its so hard not to hit the add to cart button! I won't last noon! SOB's!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I hear ya bro, that "add to cart" button should be right next to "add a divorce lawyer" button.

Limited myself to the Q600 only(+ the Q900's) Will wait and hear how my RT400's sound with the rest of the package used as surrounds. Those old girls just sound so good to my ears! Hate to replace them!

Those Q900's are simply awesome!!!! You're in for a real treat my man. If you can definitely pick up the Q600 center...a timbre match made in heaven with a seamless & dynamic front end that will have you grinning ear to ear! I wouldn't worry about the surrounds if your happy with RT400's. Just give it some time to see how they jell with the KEF's. I still have my Polk LSi/FX surrounds & I'm not in any hurry hurry to replace them. Congrats & Enjoy!!!

My 900's were purchased as a store demo pair so they had a decent amount of hours on them. I would venture to say that a good 50hrs or so should do the trick for the drivers to loosen up & settle in.

Not to insult anyone, but are KEF's really that good? I don't know, that's why I ask. They do look cool:cool:

How do these compare to Polk?
Are they like the RTiA series - more geared towards HT?
Like the LSi or LSiM - mostly for music?
Or are they somewhere in between?

I was wondering the same thing. I haven't heard that name come up much, but I'm assuming it's just me and the places I frequent while surfing the net.

A completely different design approach than Polk speakers.
KEF runs the full gammit of speaker lines...mini systems, HT, music, you name it they have it.
To this day their Reference line are touted as some of the best speakers bar none.
Get your ears on a pair & hear for yourself.

Your contrasting Polk and commenting, ". . . runs the full gammit of speaker lines...mini systems, HT, music, you name it they have it. . ." seems quite odd considering the depth and breadth of the Polk line, especially with the introduction of the new LSiM.

I definitely want to get my ears on some. Why isn't there one massive store that carries all brands of speakers the size of Disneyland? Would be AWESOME.
