please be gentle I am new to the whole turntable/vinyl scene. I just purchased a couple of LP's from a local store and put the record on but no stereo...I checked the connections and they are fine and I remember playing a record a month or so ago and it was in stereo but my left speaker isn't making a sound. It's fine for everything else I play....any ideas???

Could be where the cartridge wires clip on to the cartridge or an interconnect. Worse case scenario's: internal in the turntable or problem with your amp.

both of the album covers say Stereo...as far as added info...not sure what to say other than I get great sound out of my right speaker but absolutely none from the left. I listened to TSO Christmas CD right after an it's fine...great tone from both...guess I'll just keep trying to play around with it. I hadn't played the TT at all for the last three months and then it was fine. thanks all for your input.

bent needle, bad interconnects, check the leads going to the cartridge.

Even if it was mono it would still play out of both speakers. Most likely a bad connection. Have you checked the little wire clips at the back of the cart?
