Had a chance to listen to these back to back on the same system.

Better looking cabinet - Klipsch - hands down.
Better sounding Polk
So if you are shopping newegg save the $50 a pair and buy the $150 Polk's.

Glad you liked those. But, in fairness, the Klipsch should be compared to the Polk Rti-A1? The Monitor 40s are entry level speakers that list well below the MSRP for the WB-14s.

Personally, I'm not a "horn" man so I've never liked those Klipsch. In fact, I've actually preferred the sound of the TSI-100s to those? But, it's pretty subjective because if you like horns then that's that!

    Enjoy!

NE had the M40's at 150 and the WB-14's at $200. I would consider this to be entry level speakers.
If NE/klipsch wants to say the WB-14's are $600 speakers then they are nuts. Wb's would sound like
crap next to B&W 602's. Entry lever or what you can get for under $200 the M40's are the better
    deal.

Thanks for your review/comparison. It's been a while since I compared the sound of Klipsch to Polk, but I do recall preferring the Polks in a direct comparison. However, I've been curious about those wb14s, especially since the price has been as low as $180. Of course the Monitor 40s have dropped as low as $110, so the polks are definitely much less expensive in percentage terms. Can you elaborate on what you like better about the M40s? I'm guessing they have more bass.

Lower bass with better definition, smoother fuller mid range and classic Polk tweeter.
