I'm looking to purchase a new system for my home and would like some advice on component selection. I was thinking about using: Lsi-m 703 for fnt speakers, Lsi-m 704c for center, 80f/x-ls for the rear surrounds, and micro pro 3000 sub... my issue is picking out the right a/v receiver...any suggestions ?

You can never go wrong with the Pioneer Elites for their raw power. I'm not familiar with the LSiM series though, but you may need to start considering a pre/pro with external amplification. Hate to see you spend the money on a nice AVR to "just get by"65" Sony X900 (XBR-65X900E)

Welcome to Club Polk!!
+1, Get an Elite in the SC-XX series (with the ICE amps). The speaker choice will be great for "both" movies and music. You could run all those LSi-ms off the Elite for now. But I would, seriously, consider adding a power amp down the road!
Enjoy!

Thanks for the feedback. Do either one of you have any experience with Denon or Yamaha.. I hear that they are reliable as well.

Unfortunately no to either of those. I'm a Pioneer / Harman Kardon person. I do know both of those represent very well. I guess with any product though, you get what you pay for. Quite a few people here will say that the $300 Yamaha's suck. Just like anything else. But if you drop 2k on one - it'll probably hold it's own.65" Sony X900 (XBR-65X900E)
