Because, regardless of how innocuous the intent, somewhere, somehow, some eunuch will be offended. And the Mod-Squad prolly has enough to do, babysitting this place as it is.

I find looking at the same avatar's over and over at other forums annoying. Same with signatures. Hopefully we never have avatars here, at least we have the option to turn off sigs.

Can you even imagine what some individuals here would come up with for an Avatar? Perish the thought!

Yeah, we're all a bunch of bad boys here.

    LOL!

Are you serious?! This is the most milk toast, politically correct, heavily moderated forum on the internet. It would be a bunch of pictures of ponies and cats.

You speak the truth. I've never seen a forum that was so politically correct.

That's not necessarily a bad thing though, since it cuts down a lot on flaming matches and pointless bickering.

Ya never know though...some of the cat pictures might actually be cartoon cats with big bug eyes or something like that. That could be very offensive to some people...lol

I'm cool without the avatars personally. They really serve absolutely no purpose, aside from cluttering up the page and slowing down load times.

I love avatars. Usually when someone says that a forum is heavily moderated or politically correct, is because they got slapped since they acted like a douchebag. It happens, why shouldn't it? If you don't push the boundaries, you never know where they are and I consider that a badge of courage personally. If you haven't been banned temporarily, you haven't tried hard enough. Save the poor me and oh this forum is so different now comments for another forum. If anyone knows this forum is different and not like the old days it's those of us that have been here long enough to actually know that....not someone who has 10k posts in one year. Do you know how awful I've been over the years? Please. No one is perfect and forums and their respective dynamics change all the time. It's the ebb and flow of things. You either adapt or you leave. Simple. There will be no memorial to me after I'm gone, you either. The YOU is general and not specific, just in case someone wants to get their panties in a bunch....Macleod.

Hey, speaking of which, MAC PM me ASAP. I need to talk to you about the Polk issue we chatted about before...actually, I'd like to talk to you by voice so leave your number please.

Well, since mine would be me in assless chaps, or Tony Stewart, or something about the kickbutt Dallas Cowboys, I don't think my popularity will rise , so I'm fine without them, I'm surprised no one posted a woulda, coulda yet...

I might argue that point. Depends on what type of thinker you are. I see names and they don't immediately register. But if I see an avatar, I can more quickly associate it with who I am dealing with.

Anyway, still not a big deal. Just sayin'.
