16' vaulted ceilings, 20'X40 room.

I love my Polk satellites but looking for a speaker I can hang/install up high on the walls aimed down. The Bose 901 is kind of what I am looking for but the Polks blew the Bose satellites away, so I'm hoping Polk makes a similar speaker system.

Btw, it's an old Yamaha system - nothing fancy but welcome any and all suggestions on other equipment as well.

I'm an hour outside of Atlanta.

Are you dead set on hanging your speakers? Why not some fine looking towers or bookshelves? Do you need a center channel as well? What are you running, 2.0, 2.1, 5.0, 5.1? What kind of set up is your goal?

A small pair of RTI A5's in cherry have a nice look. Not to big and over bearing. More like a book shelf with a built in stand.

What are you trying to accomplish? filling your chair or the sweet spot with sound or the entire room so you can just walk around the room and have good sound?

Yes. May wife does not want big speakers taking up space where her eclectic decor (clutter) could otherwise be placed.... Ha ha ha

Here are some pics taken from opposite sides of the room.

I would look into the OWM series. I had the OWM3'sw and was fairly impressed with them. They have multiple ways to mount them as well.
    Front - RTiA5's
    Rear - RTiA3's
    Center - CSiA4
    Sub - PSW110

I like the versatile mounting options but the LSiM wood finish would blend better with my room.

Anyone ever listened to the LSiM speakers?

Opening a whole new can of worms on that one. Definitely would need new pre/amp combo to get the best out of those, what's your total budget, I think that would help people narrow down suggestions.

    Ummm...

To fill a room that size with the least amount of speakers, it would seem to me some sort of Di/Bi-Pole speakers would fit the bill. Use them in "Bi-Pole" mode and I would venture to guess they could/would sound quite good.

    LSi-FX or LSiM-FX ??!!

I dont have a budget yet. This whole thing started when the mid speaker in my Monitor Series II satellite went out. Polk wants $60.00 to replace it. I saw a Best Buy add in the paper for a pair of Polk T15s for $49.00 (normally $99.00. So I figured I'd buy those cheap bookshelf speakers and use them instead of the old SeriesII speakers.
Hooked them up in series with the bass series II and was not impressed. Now the T15s are on "speaker B" and the Series IIs are "speaker A", which is not all bad except for when at higher volume - then the blown satellite buzzes.

So I joined here with intentions of finding some old satellites for my series IIs. But now that I've been lurking here for a few days, I've been bit by the "get new speakers" bug. But if I get what I want, I'll need amps too!

DAYUM, life was so much easier before that 20 year old satellite went out! LOL!!!

But let's say I have $3,000.00 to throw at it. What would you suggest?

Not the wood finish you desire, but I don't think you'll find that in a satellite speaker.

Blackstone is a great idea, I'd find a way to hide a small wireless Polk sub as a compromise. Very nice room there.

    Welcome to CP BTW!

Oh, ps look at the mirage omd-5, very high quality finish and room filling omnipresent sound. Would mount great in your room, still look at a small wireless sub IMO....

Thanks for the compliment. I am leaning that way. Unfortunately the Best Buy here does not stock the higher end Polk speakers. I may have to drive to Atlanta or Birmingham to find a store where I can go listen to them.

If any of you have advice on stores in those towns, please advise.

Check these, as I said in my last post, price/performance is very good. They also look GREAT, just an idea... (I love mine)

Only problem with those is they are sold exclusively by an electronics store chain in Montana.

Sort of difficult for me to check those out.....

There is a store locator on the main page. I believe it says Fry's 20 minutes north of Altlanta.
