So more big changes.......

Last time I got a new job, bought a new house...etc etc.

So Dec 17 came and went. I got married to my long term girlfriend of 10+ years finally! It was a beautiful ceremony and her family and best friend came in from Indiana to Oklahoma for it. So she has my last name now :)

My mom is still upset, and almost didn't come. I'm glad she did, but there's still tension with her. I'm sure things will get better - if she wants it to. We'll see.

On the audio front - today I sold my prized set of ForteII's. Made a good profit off of them. It was just time for them to go - they were too big and gaudy for my new home. In the old home we had a theater room that they fit in perfectly, but now not so much. I am still contemplating what to replace them with. For now the trusty backup setup will suffice - RT55 mains, CS250 center, RT F/X rears, PSW150. It's like 1995 threw up their speaker set all over again. Not bad as I love my RT55s and they're just collecting dust in the office.

Basically- all new things! New life, new gear, fun times!

Congratulations to you and your new wife! I'm glad your mother was able to come, even if there was a bit of tension. Hopefully ya'll will be able to work it out in the near future, but as you said, it will only happen if she wants it to.

Thanks guys! I got married to a wonderful woman - she is the best of me. Right now we're in a good spot and saving up for bigger and better things. It's the week before Christmas and finally the most stressful part is over (at least for her). I kind of sailed through it since she's great and planned it all. It didn't cost a horrible amount either. I gave her two options back in September: big reception, or new house. She chose new house so I bought her one closer to the parents. We kind of got tired of messing with the old house (1962) and rented it out. As such I have sold off a good amount of my collection, except for the rack I posted a picture of last week. This home is much nicer but the layout doesn't afford me much in the way of multiple audio systems.

And before the WAF comes into play - I decided to upgrade and organize the main system so that it is not only impressive to me, but it is clean and impressive to her as well. I wanted this to be done before she says anything down the road. Current plans are for a huge flat panel of some sort (70" sharp quattron, or 65" Panasonic plasma.....) to be wall mounted with all wires run in wall, and a pair of say RTI A9s or equivalent (doesn't have to be Polk, but come on guys, I know where home is) to be run with the wires going into wall plates. I don't want a stand, rack, or any thing else visible. All that can be run back to the rack in my closet in the other room. I think she will be impressed and so will I.

That being said, it's only a small part of being married. I know I have a lot to learn yet, and many of you out there have already seen what I am only discovering. I think it will be a fun journey, with all the great friends, family, and my wife to go experience it with.

I am home, both here where I sit, and where I am typing to.
