Merry Christmas to me......New truck

So, my last truck was a 98 Silverado standard cab and 8' bed. I bought it used with 90k on it and proceeded to put another 75k on it over the last 4.5 years. It served me well, but needed axle seals and few other things. It was to the point that it was about to nickle & dime me to death. The last straw was a week ago when I was dragging the trash-can down the driveway (trash can is on wheels and I bungie strap it to the hitch) and noticed that the tailgate was about to fall off. The left side "hinge" was about rusted away.

That was enough for me. I knew I was going to have to get another truck next summer, but this pushed the date up a half year.

I was originally intrigued by GM's 72 month 0% financing. After I found the truck I wanted I realized that it did not apply to 2012. Screw it. I couldn't find a 2011 that met my requirements (8' bed, 4wd, air/cruise/tilt wheel (no silver, red, or white)).

So what did I end up with? I really wanted a 3/4 ton diesel but couldn't justify the extra$.

A 2012 GMC 2500HD SLE Flex fuel, extended cab, 8' bed, 4wd. Black on black.

First up will be a leveling kit and new set of tires......the dinky highway-tread tires look stupid.

This is my 2nd new one. The last new vehicle I bought was a 94' 1/2 ton Silverado and put 248k miles on it. Swore I would never buy another new vehicle, but....I couldn't resist. Hopefully this one will last me for 10 years or so. I usually drive them until they are junkyard material.

    very nice!!

I've always liked long beds. Load some plywood and still be able to shut the tailgate.

Black color means wash every other day somebody said. Still, congrats again!! It will look alot better with the bigger tires and add ons.
