Not to rain on anyone's parade, but IIRC the SL1000 and the Peerless require slightly different crossover circuits. In other words, one shouldn't be swapped for the other.

I've been reading here about other people doin tweeter swaps and upgrades. Are they all also rebuilding their crossovers when they do the swap?

What does the tweeter you have look like? Is it silver faced or is it Black faced with a dimple in the middle of the dome?

I have heard people call both SL1000. There is a big difference between them.

Peerless will not work right like F1nut said. Not sure but IIRC the peerless and SL1000 face plates are different in size a little i think.

I haven't gotten to hear them yet. Still waiting on fed ex to settle on the damage claim. But I plan to modify them for peerless tweets and do all of the xover upgrades and internal wiring eventually.

You're right, they are a different size.

To the OP, you'd be better off going with the RD0194-1 tweeters.

Do the rdo's sound better than the peerless? I've never heard either. New to the vintage Polks. Had a set of monitor 10 b's for a couple weeks and really like them. I think they have sl-2000's?
Would the peerless fit those easier than my RTA 12?

I think the RD O194 sounds better than the SL1000 and peerless.

    WOW!
Checked the mail when I got home after work and there was a letter from the shipper that damaged my RTA 12b's. Was afraid they were goin to deny my claim or not pay much on it. I opened it up and there was a check for the full amount, shipping included PLUS $5
How bout that? The paid me $5 to keep some free RTA's
