Hi guys, I know we've been through this before but my aversion to technology has got me very shakey on getting the Harmony One remote. Later you'll see that my gear isn't all that different than some of yours execept that for me I run some of my h/t gear through my 2-chl system also. For instance i-net radio, the dock and i-pod and my multidisc players. Also my Adcomgfa555 is not a remote controlled device and to a man here you guys said not to plug your amp into my Onkyo p301.Another minor annoyance is I bought a Sony 335 5disc carosel player from Good Will for $15 and it works great but since it's a ten year old device it's remote does not turn on the unit or open the tray like my Denon does. Now I know I have to pick my **** up and load the discs to begin w/ but here again this unit I do plug into the Onkko switched outlet. So yes will it turn on my tv and avr of course ,but all this other inter sysem stuff that does work for me just has me nervous about the purchase. Calling Logitec really wasn't an eyeopener because I don't think they knew what I want to do.

I would not plug the cdp into the pre my man. Since you have an aversion to technology and you don't mind getting off the couch to change cd's, whats the big deal about manualy turning things on ? Hard to follow what you want to do, but a Harmony remote isn't your answer imho anyway.

If your trying to figure out if your equipment will work with the Harmony One remote, check out their site. It allows you to plug in the make and model #'s of all your gear and tells you if the remote works with them.

The remote works with all the gear in my sig and was about as easy to setup as possible via my computer. The ONLY thing that it makes harder is dialing down into menus to tweak. This is normally easier done on the actual remote for that piece of gear.

However once you get it set and start using the Harmony One, its really hard to go back.

here is the link. Even if your specific model is not listed and you find your manufactor and device is listed more often than not your not listed model will work.

I am controlling my W4S DAC 2 set up as a W4S Amplifier.

Just pick one up. If it doesn't work out for you then return it, simple as that, no need to be so nervous about a remote control purchase.

I haven't researched these specifically, but I do know there are power strips that are remote controlled. This could possibly be something that would work for you. And as long as it's IR controlled, you would be able to set up the Harmony to turn the whole strip on/off.

Just did a quick google, and it appears that the few I checked out use RF remotes. You may want to keep checking to see if an IR one exists. Otherwise, this could also be your solution instead of the H1. Granted, you's still have your other remotes (and actually adding one more) - but then everything would be remote controlled.

Thats the problem with alot of legacy gear, if thats the route you want to take you have to accept some trade offs.

Just my .02, but if I was you, I'd sell everything and define what exactly it is you want to do and find gear that will do it. No offense LW, but from where I sit, you have a hodge podge of gear and are still not satisfied.

Tony, I think your kinda right here. Am I satisfied w/ all the gear that I own ,probably not. My biggest problem is of course is having Ferrari taste w/ a Saturn wallet if you know what I mean. I would love to own a mac2105 and c-28 pre and oppo player but it's not in the cards I was dealt. So lazy no,not really but convience is another thing. I am as mixed up as my gear.
