I need a single Black binding post nut for an R-50 speaker. The original sort of fell apart. Does anyone have a spare tthey might sell to me?

Thanks.

Are you using nanners? If so, the nut is not needed...

Maybe 'nut' is the wrong term? I need the black plastic piece with the gold-plated innards that screws on to the post. Without it, there is nothing to plug my 'nanner' into.

I cannot post one until this weekend. The speaker is in a weekend cabin.

I could not get a very good image from my cell phone camera. The flash washed everything out, and turning off the flash left me with this. That is the broken black piece on the left.

Looks to me like you will need to replace that binding post. I have some spare ones from SDA's and could give you one, but they are not gold plated. IMHO, I'd do a little upgrade to them, since you will have to replace one anyway.

It is hard to tell from the picture, but that mis-shapen gold stub is not broken. The other one is just like it, and the red plastic cover screws on just fine. My black plastic cover is just missing its innards, and that makes it tough to maintain a connection. If you have a spare, gold or not, I'd be happy to PayPal you a couple bucks to mail one to me.

    Thanks!

If the other one matches, I believe they were both sheared off by some accident. The complete inner post has a formed circle "drilled" through it and is much longer, IIRC.

Like agfrost said, that binding post is broken. Do you see how you have little fingers sticking up on the broken one? That would normally form a circle with a post above it.

Invest in some binding posts for both if the other one looks like that.

They can be had pretty easily if you look online.

No doubt, it's broken beyond repair. Parts Express sells new ones.

OK, I feel more than a little foolish, having looked at the other speaker. The caps still screw onto the surviving stub, and they both broke the same way, so I decided this was just a very strange cost cutting design decision on an inexpensive speaker. Silly moi.

PM received. Thanks Helipilotdoug, and thanks to all for the responses.
