I am looking for something that is very similar to Squeezebox touch but also plays video files. Any suggestions? Looking for wifi, portability, usb connectivity (both ways) etc.

Any ideas??

I've had good experiences with the WD TV stuff, although that AIOS looks interesting too. Biggest difference between going with one of these as opposed to the Touch is that your TV becomes the display. And of course video support.

The AIOS does sound interested. It says it supports an Internal HDD. Is it wifi? Can it be used just with batteries (like in a car). I dont see any rca outs, am I missing that?

Maybe check out the Apple TV and the WD Live boxes and see if either has what you need. I have both and they are both good, but neither comes close to the SB Touch in terms of sound quality, not even remotely close.

May not come with a built-in DAC as good as the SB, but one can always be added.

Do your research before buying that AIOS box. I've been looking around and there are numerous problems with that box right now, it may be more hassle than it's worth for you.

Well I have had a Roku box for over a year now and it is weak. So anything would be an improvement. Aios seems to support all the formats I am looking for. $99 is not a bad price. I also like the internal HDD support.

Another option is to use a NAS as a storage medium for your media server--doesn't need to have a hard drive built in. My philosophy is to leave the business of storage to a dedicated storage device that is both expandable and redundant (via RAID) and let everything else draw from it.

I have a ReadyNAS storing my music for my SB and also video for my HTPC. And of course it also stores backup images of all of my computers.

Many ways to skin the cat. Just pick which way you like best.

Please elaborate? I have had a ROKU for almost 2 years and it's fantastic for streaming Netflix and Hulu, etc. Are you using it in another way to stream from a PC?

What I dont like about Roku is that it doesnt support many formats and it can't seem to handle the amount of music I have. It doesnt seem to be able to stream anything except for Netflix and Hulu. I kind of gave up on it. Maybe I should take another look.

It was never intended to stream your music from your PC. It's nothing like a Squeezebox, nor is it remotely marketed that way. To say it's weak is a disservice as to what it's intended function is.

Question- Can any of these media players stream video from another computer that is streaming video? Not video that is stored. Or does the web browser on these machines allow you to access same stream as other computer?
