Sumo Polaris III Power Amp 120wpc X 2

Up for sale is an amp that I picked up locally along with a SS preamp I wanted to try out. I'm going to continue using the pre for awhile but prefer to stick with my tube amp in the 2 channel rig so I'm going to offer this one up. It's a solid amp that some reviews say has very punchy bass and somewhat of a tube warmth to it. I honestly didn't listen to it long enough or critcally enough to give my own review.

Cosmetically, this amp is about a 6/10. It has scratches on the top and a few light scratches on the front. It is not a show piece anymore but functionally it is fine. With that in mind I'll offer it well under what a fellow member just paid for his in great condition.

Asking $130 plus actual shipping. The amp weighs around 24lbs so shipping shouldn't be more than $30. This would be a great way for someone to get into separates on the cheap. This amp supports both RCA and balanced inputs. It's rated at 120wpc X 2 or mono bridge at 300wpc.

I also have another Polaris III that came as part of the package but it has one channel out. According to the repair guy I take my amps to, it needs 4 caps replaced to make it functional again. It's not worth the cost to me to get it fixed so I'll offer that amp to anyone on the forum who wants it as a repair project for free. Just cover the packaging and shipping cost and it's yours. Hey I would be interested in picking up that Polaris III that needs new caps, I just recapped my rta 12's and could really use a new amp. I'm in SoCal I could pick it up or pay shipping, what ever is easier for you. Thanks
  • did you sell the amp and give away the fixer upper?
