I have been reading many stories about SDA SRSs and would really like to get a pair. 1.2s hopefully. I am just wondering if these are too big for my room? The biggest room in my house is 12 X 16 with 8 foot ceilings. Yeah, they will physicly fit but, Will a room that size do them any justice? Treated or not?

Way too small. I'd suggest looking for some 2B's, 1C's, 3.1TL's or maybe some SDA SRS 2's. You'll need all of that 16 foot wall regardless.

If you find 1.2's at a price you can't resist and buy them for a future larger room, and decide to temporarily shoehorn them into your 12X16X8 space, you will need to treat every surface of the room.

I kind of figured as much. The cheapest I have seen the 1.2s is about $1k. Besides the sound, the coolness factor is what alures me. I will look at the smaller ones to satisfy my curiosity.
    Thanks!

I don't have the perfect room by any means as well treating the room is the only way to go no matter what you get IMO.

The 8ft ceiling is what kills it for me with what you have. If you can find a set of SDA SRS 2's you would be set for a long time to come, don't pass on the 3.1, 1C's, or 2B's..

I have to agree! I had a set of 1.2's in a 28x26 room ( the basement). I had them 14 feet between them and i sat 16 feet back. It was fantastic!

the Girlfriend moved in with her kids and we needed another bedroom so the basement got split into a hall, and 2 17x12 rooms. I could not get the speakers to sound right in the newly built room. It didnt matter where I put them and believe me, i tried every combination possible! I did come close but, sitting 5 feet from the speaker didnt leave room for a couch lol. For me, i wound up putting a set of jm labs down there. I kept the 2.3' and they are in the living room next to the Tyler's and the 2.3's are still a little too big for that room as well but still do better than the 1.2's did in the living room. The living room is 12 X 19 but, where the speakers are and the couch its 8 feet back to the left of the room. There is no corner around the speakers as they are up against the kitchen wall the on one side opens up to the dining room and the other side the hallway. Since it is to the left of the room, i had to pull the couch away from the wall otherwise it was too much bass. For the SDA 2.3 up against the wall, it does sound ok but not quite right as the tylers to in that config. If I put the 2.3 on the long wall and sit in the dining room, they sound fantastic but not practical in that room... or my back to sit for a few hours on a dining room chair LOl.

WOW that was a long post. anyway I agree with F1. if you want to stick with SDA

I did the "buy them for a future room" deal. Future room hasn't panned out yet so I'm using my 1.2TLs in a room the size of a walk-in closet. Still wishing and hoping.

FWIW, in a room as small as mine the sound waves don't even have a chance to generate properly. They don't sound "bad" exactly, but you can tell they're completely unsuitable for the room.
