$99 nook vs Kindle

I need one more thing on my wishlist. Been thinking about lower end e-readers. Will only consider these two and have read the online comparisons, but looking for real owner experiences. Any show-stoppers I should know about? Thanks!

Wife loves her Nook. Perhaps the deciding factor will be on how she buys her books. Don't know much about the Kindle but I know the Nook supports lots of formats. My wife can even borrow from the local library from home. Perhaps the Kindle can do that too but I am not sure.

Both do library ebooks. I just checked my local one and they support many different data formats. Only substantial difference I can come up with is that the kindle still has web browsing, which I do not need with my iphone and laptop. Not a show stopper, but and extra feature fwiw. Grip seems better on nook as do the page buttons, which do not require moving a finger to swipe or tap screen as on the Kindle. I'm a prime member of Amazon, so I might miss some freebies if I did not go Kindle. Too much to absorb sometimes....Husband, Father, Son, Brother, Friend.

Mono in both cases. I only want it for reading, not as a tablet device. Check these:

BTW, when my wife was looking into them she decided on the Nook Color for a couple reasons.... 1) not a big fan of Amazon for books, although we use them for non-book related purchases. 2) She didn't like the screen-refresh flash when turning the page with the e-ink readers.

I bought the Nook Tablet and I like it a lot. One reason I did not buy the Kindle Fire is that it does not do library ebooks unless they are in Amazon's format. The standard library format for ebooks is Epub and Kindle does not handle that. Some libraries do have Amazon ebooks, however.Front - Polk LSiM 705, Center - Polk LSiM 704c, Rear - Polk LSi 7
Subwoofer - Epik Legend
Receiver (as Preamp) - Sony STR-DA3400 ES
Amplifier - Outlaw 7125
Television - 58" Samsung Plasma PN58B860
Blu Ray - OPPO BDP 83 -
I'm lucky. My local library handles kindle books, Adobe Epub Ebooks and Adobe pdf Ebooks.Husband, Father, Son, Brother, Friend.
