In the market for new Polk's for two channel MUSIC ONLY room. I have old rti'8 that don't sound bad but not good
either. What Polk speaker is first music, second HT? I continue to read that Polk is more of a HT speaker.
Was looking at the RTI A7 until someone said they would be a little too bright for music.
Help

What are you using for playing the music equipment wise ? The rti8 are a little bright but not harsh so I paired my 8's up with a cheap tube integrated from yaqin and it sounds great. If funds are limited then why not try out some LSI7 but again we need to know what equipment your running before we can make a recomendation

Just bought the RTi8s to replace some 60 serires IIs. I'm driving them with an HK3490. Also have a BIC F12 sub. I have read the RTi8s are "bright" with a bigger "sound stage". This new set up sounds MUCH better for me. This is a music set up only. If you dont have a sub, that may be factor in the "bright" sound.

I have owned the (old) Rti 10s and did find them to be bright. I believe some people are more susceptible to listener's fatigue than others and I must be one of the unlucky ones. In contrast, I can listen to Lsi 25s all day long. I have the Lsi 7's with a small sub in a separate office 2.1 system. The 7's are also real smooth. For the price of Rti 8s I'd go with either (a) Lsi 9's and a decent 4 ohm stable amp, or (b) Lsi 7s with a musical sub. I chose the latter option because I wanted to place the speakers on a fireplace and the Lsi9 would not fit. So I used the money I would have spent on an amp for the 9's to buy a musical sub. The 7's are great but the base from them alone is not enough for me.
MAIN: Polk Lsi9s; Polk PSW505; Lsic (in box); Onkyo SR-875; Parasound 2250; Cambridge Audio 740C; LG BD370
    OFFICE: Polk Lsi7; REL T3; HK 3490; CA 840W; Onkyo C-S5VL
    BENCHED: CS20; OWM3s
