soundbar dtv and apple tv issue

New to this. Samsung 50 plasma TV, Polk soundbar 3000 and apple tv (ATV). When using ATV can sound run through soundbar? if so how do I hook it up to do this? TIA. LTW

Failed to mention also using DirectTV. LTW

    Not knowing any of those - I'll give you the standard answer that I would expect. Hook the appleTV up to the TV, the run the audio out from the TV (probably an optic connection) and you should be set. Then anything you connect to the TV, will be output to the soundbar.

    My appologies if there aren't the proper connections, but the theory should work unless the TV has no sound out.
