Denon 3808ci and PolkAudio RTiA5 , CSiA6 Crossover Adjustent and FXiA6 side question
Hello Audio Friends
I am new at this forum and I am pleased to say I got a brandnew RTiA5 for mains speakers and a CSiA6 for center speaker, also I have the FXiA4 for surround speakers and a DSW Pro 660 Subwoofer.
I have the Denon AVR 3808ci and I would like to setup the crossover in this unit with these speakers, anyone with this unit can help me if I have to choose 80 Hz or 60 Hz and if the Sub will take LFT or LFT+main, and if I have to choose large or small speakers?
Another question... the FXiA4 comes with a little sticker which marks left or right side, but if you see the drivers, the left marked unit has the mid driver on the left side and the second tweeter on the right side of the speaker, it means that if I install this speaker on the left side the mid driver will be on the exterior side and just the second tweeter will be pointing directly to you left ear... so my concern is if the right marked speaker shold be on my right side looking the Amp face to face or if the right marked speaker shoud be on my right side with the Amp on my back.
Thanks in advance.
JorgeA

Sounds like you have either two left or right fxi's. You want the woofer side facing your listening area.AVR: Onkyo Tx-NR808
Amplifier: Carver A-753x 250 watts x 3
Fronts: Polk RTI A7 (modded by Trey VR3)
Center: CSI A4 (modded by Trey VR3)
Rear: FXI A4
Sub: Polk DSW Pro 660wi
TV: LG Infinia 50PX950 3D
Speaker Cable: AudioQuest Type 8
IC: AudioQuest Black Mamba II -
Your English is fine. sub sets usually at 80hz and speakers to small.

About the FXi speakers, I had the same questions when I got mine, but then I realized that they're surround speakers, NOT suppose to point directly at you.
about the AVR, I have a similar one. I set mine to LFE+main to add more bass during music. otherwise the sub is only active during movies. I cross mine at 60hz, even though I know my speakers can go lower. at 80hz, i still hear voice coming out of the sub, not what we want.
you need to set your speakers to small. If you set it to large, you won't be able to change the hz setting -
Thanks for yogur help! I will try it this afternoon, and let You know how it works with 60 hz in crossover.
