It is with a mixture of anger at myself and embarassment of my own stupdity that I write this.
I had my public storage unit here in Long Beach California burglarized this morning.
Gone are my Polk SRT speakers and cs1000 speaker still in the box and rt2000p - also still in the box.
I have a friend I've been renting a room from. Despite my reservations I let him talk me into putting the speakers in storage, although they were not in the way here in the condo. I felt like I couldn't really put up a fuss since it it his place. Now my speakers are gone. I have filed a police report. We know how rare the SRT's are. Also finding a cs1000 or rt2000p's in the box won't be so common either.
If anyone hears of any of these speakers being sold anywhere on the West Coast, please let me know.
Thanks you.

+1 on that. Do all you can to get them. In Maryland we have a database where you can just punch in the serial number of an item and see if it has been pawned.
Most storage places have video systems. Have you tried to view them ???
Good luck with everything. -

+1. We just cleaned out our storage items and the facility had cameras everywhere. That should be a priority. Best of luck!Husband, Father, Son, Brother, Friend. -
Check all pawn shops for 250 mile radius by phone search. My wife does that before we travel. Then we might stop in and see what they have along the way if we have time.
Pawn shops are where I have bought of my POLK collection!!! check/call them asap!!Most people just listen to music and watch movies. I EXPERIENCE them. -
Also check the weekend outdoor flea market in your area.
Also check the auction houses in your area. Mine post pictures at two locations of stuff in their upcoming sales.
Good luck!! I'm praying for their return to you!!!!!.:-)Most people just listen to music and watch movies. I EXPERIENCE them. -

I don't know how long you've known your friend and please if you trust him/her totally disregard but what are the chances of a not so coincidental coincidence?Too much **** to list.... -
Yeah my first thought is your roommate is a not-so-nice guy- Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit.
-
Sounds like you might have a claim against the storage operator & their insurance company, those places are supposed to be secure! Heck......a porta-torch could open a unit every 15 seconds or so if no one is watching the place. Sorry for your tribulations !

Thanks for all the advice everyone. I will check pawn shops etc. Also I will keep on the PD.
I'm starting to suspect the owners of the place. Something about their behavior just doesn't seem right. Supposedly they haven't had a burglary there in 10 years, but the owner was what could be described as "unsurprised/nonchalant" about it. Just seems to be a strange reaction.
Also my roomate got a call saying it we were moving out we need to get our things out of the unit. The door to the unit was open. Why is this strange? Because the tenants are supposed to check in before going to the area where the storage units are. We had not signed in. Why wouldn't they assume that something was wrong when a storage unit is open and the tenant is not signed in.
I'm smelling a rat. -
That really blows I was just going to ask if you found a house yet.
Can't tell if these are 2000 or 1000's:
